Changing LED's

Hey guys. Iv got a Saitek Eclipse Keyboard and want to change the LED's inside from Red to Green.

I have never come across these before and would like to know what make and model they are and what i would need to change them over, also would be nice if anyone knew where i could get them from.

It's just a small PCB with an LED on it

Dont worry, found it. They are surface mount Led's. Just incase anyone wanted to know

I have the same keyboard, Post up how you do it and stuff, might do it myself if it works for you.

Iv found the name but havent found where to get it all from. ebay at the mo by the looks of things. I havent got any of the kit but i dont mind going for a march to my fathers to make a weekend out of modding some things.

ill post on here when im done. make it into a project log or something.

Good mod on there for the SMD leds in the Saitek.

I thought red LEDs generally took a higher voltage than all the other colours.

you may want to check if they new ones will be ok in there or you may need a resistor or something.

Hey guy, If i do choose to go ahead with this mod id need some assistance, BIG TIME!

Last time i messed with electronics of the resistor, soldering iron and flux time i got bored and nearly burnt my house down, , so, if i was to buy these

then what resistors or special components would i need to buy?

All of which need to be able to plug in via usb

All I know is that USB is 5v? so ill be wiring directly up to this. I need superbright LED's and green ones at that if anyone can suggest buying from anywhere else?

Super brights are VERY bright.

also, you may want to go with the same type of led as before.

A "surface mount LED"

Not too sure about resistors. For that you'd probably need a multimeter.

As for soldering. I can only say, practice practice practice.
