Case Selection

Hey guys.

I'm looking to change my PC case, but I am unsure what to change to.

The case will be for my gaming PC, so it will need to be full ATX in size and it will need to support a 280mm rad as I have a Corsair H110i GT. THis needs to go in the top as the front will need to be usable with the R9 Fury X

Below is the full spec of my PC.

CPU: i7 6700K
Motherboard: ASUS Z170 Maximus VIII Hero
Memory: 4x4GB 3200MHz DDR4 memory.
PSU: Corsair HX1200i
Storage: Crucial MX100 250GB + Sandisk Ultra 960GB
GPU: Either a R9 Fury X, GTX 980Ti, GTX960 or a R9 380 (depending on my mood)

A case window is a must.

Looking for recommendations here, what you guys think is nice and could look nice as a game testing rig.

The sleeper:
NZXT Source 340

The good child:
Corsair Carbide Series 400C

The crazy uncle:
In Win 805

The unloved child:
Thermaltake Core X71

The overkill:
Lian Li PC-O8SWX

Should have been a little clearer.

Support for a 280mm rad in the top and room for a rad in the front for a GPU like the R9 Fury X.

Maybe one of the Phanteks Enthoo series if you like them that is :)

Just note that with the "Pro" of the line you don't have room for push pull on the top. Other than that, well you can hook that fury rad on the side of the HDD cages if you intend to use more than 3 hard disks :D

Dude have a look at the NZXT Phantom 630 I got my H100i GT in the roof in push pull and room to put in 2x AIO for GPU's in the case too the cable management is awesome just an all around great case

I was considering the Phanteks ATX Evolv, but I have decided against Phanteks for now. Good suggestion though.

Ooo, a Phantom could be nice, will need to look into that, or perhaps the noctis 450.....

I had a look at the noctis and it's a good case too but went the phantom but ultimately you need to get what you're happy with

The noctis would be a stupid choice since the interior is exactly the same like the H440 you have already.

just going to throw this out there, seeing as you're changing cards all the time the Corsair
Vengeance C70 might not be a bad idea as the catch system might save time and hassle of unscrewing and screws the side panel on and off

(still recovering from my hangover)

what's your budget dude?

I don't want to spend more than £110

The main thing is that my current case has MSI stuff all over it, which is just not right with my ASUS motherboard.

With this PC I don't really care about 3.5" drive bays, as I have went all SSD with this Build.

when I test the Fury X the rad has to be outside the H440 as getting it installed in the case is such a PITA.

Id go with phanteks enthoo atx silver. Amazong case. OCuk has one in B grade so you can get it cheap ;)

Corsair 540, Compact with support for a 280 rad up top and even a 280 rad in the front plus the PSU is in the rear making it look super clean.

Cheers guys for all you help so far, my mind is spinning a lot of ideas ATM which is great.

Please head over to this thread because It is where I think I will go for my office and my gaming PCs.

I think you may have forgotten to link the thread.... Bed time dude!

If you want it for looks then the Crazy Uncle (805).

However being you want 280mm top and front radiator options and assuming you'll be using it for reviews and testing then I'd say Define S. Yes they have been done to death but there is a reason they're popular.

The Evolv ATX which you've already ruled out would also make a beautiful display case. Have you considered the Corsair 400C? Not sure there's enough room up top and it's quite compact which is good but may limit flexibility for builds and GPU testing. Just swap out the PSU cover for a custom job (OC3D logo would look sweet) and off you go.
