Case for a new build

Hi Guys,

Still in the planning phase of my new build and have decided that I dont really want to go for the NZXT Phantom. Having a long time ago watched Tom's custom builds and latley having seen MonsterMawd's tutorial on custom painting a case, I would like to purchase a case that I can get a freind of mine to paint.

My only criteria for the case is as below:

Around £150 ish

Mid tower/Full Tower

Optical drives dont matter as I dont use any.

Easy maintenance (dust filters easily removable)

Will only need room for 2 hard drives, a normal sized PSU and a couple of decent gcards.

Will fit a Noctua NH-D14

Decent quiet air cooling

Is paintable

Any help as normal is greatly appreciated

I'd personally go for the Corsair 650D. Looks good, it's already black in and out and great for building a tidy rig.

Or if you want to save abit of money then the fractal design R3 would be a good shout.

From the cases I have looked at the one that did stand out was the Coraair 650D, its a shame Tom has not reviewed that one

I was going to paint the case an electric/chelsea metallic royal blue and will probably change the fans out for ones with blue LED's, not sure what contrasting colour to go for or just maybe leave the fan covers on the front black :S

I am also going to have to find out the cost of decent paint job but my freind does have his own car repair/paint business so I am hoping for mates rates lol

If also anyone can help, wot kinda cost would it be too paint a case the size of a 650D and any recomendations as to the best/quietest blue LED fans to replace the supplied ones?

many thanks for all yer help folks

Haf X/ Haf 932/ Haf 922/ Collossus if you don't mind airflow restriction/ Survivor Core

He has reviewed it see here. And as for painting that case i'd say maybe around £100? Depends how good of a job you want doing. As for fans, i've not personally had any experience with LED as i tend to stick to black

I'm going on the attempt to find a case with as little plastic as possible as metal is easier to paint so any lian li nice simple look not cheap though. I personally love the A70

The 690 II adv is an awesome case though, I would say that though wouldn't I:P
