Case Fan Advice

Get a fan filter, run the rear fan as an intake, set the CPU cooler the wrong way around (blowing air to the front of the case instead of the rear) and set the top fan as an exhaust is what I would do.

I dunno if that would be effective. Looking at images the front/top fan looks pretty useless.

EDIT;
Are you sure the cooler fits in that case btw?

Yeh I've fitted it and it's fine. I'll give that fan set up a go now. Cheers for the help.

I'm guessing that it has a disk drive?

It does. Just forgot to mention it :/

I was suprised with the nice new parts inside it, with the case. It might be fine, but could get pretty toasty in there. You should maybe show them a few mid price cases (like say the 200r/£50ish, oh there are a few new corsairs - with windows, that they might like for £40ish! That would most probably give much nicer air flow) There are ofc other $50 cases such as some of the Zalmans aswell etc...

I hope you manage to get it all in there, and nice and cool!

Tom did a review on these very reasonable cases:

Anyways hope its of some help, as i didn't really give fan direction advice! :p

Just my 2 cents. I don't even use case fans any more. My computer has one fan (other than the GPU) and that is my fan on my 120mm rad.

Believe me, I've tried. She is adamant that she doesn't want another case even though she can afford one. Aesthetically it's not bad looking, but the design is toss.

Just make sure that its not getting in the way of the airflow ^_^.
Good luck with the cables!

I'll try not to break anything is frustration :)

Are 100% sure there is no front fan mount ? As I used to own this case and I thought the same, but it didn't make sense that it had a front grill, so after a lot of pushing and pulling, the front came of and there was a fan spot.

Thinking though I think they did do 2 models, if so could you not mod the front to take a 120 fan considering it has got a mesh front ?

Update on the situation, after getting the mobo I realized the cooler can only be installed vertically. Any advice on orientation for that?

Yeh there is. I'd need to drill out the holes for the fan screws though.

I know I've said it before, and you've told us before that she doesn't want a new case but with the cooler in that orientation it will either blow hot air directly at the GPU or directly into the PSU.

Late reply here, but i've finally (after much deliberation) managed to convince her to buy a new case. Just thought i'd finish what i started.

Good to hear mate :)

What's it going to be?

She just spent £120 out on a Bitfenix Colossus. Dear me it is a pain to get it all installed into such a large case

Got a bit of a problem with the LEDs on the damn thing but it all seems to be going smoothly otherwise. At least I don't have to work with the other case now :( Cheers all for the help with the fans as well!
