Omfg i have to swap them back!!
why??
They said no modifications are allowed, if you want those lights you will have to cancel your insurance with us. I said well I can't do that, this is my first car so I'm not going to pay more, just for the sake of lights.
I said you don't understand this wasn't a ooo lets make my car souped up, its a case of my old ones were cracked so whilst I was swapping them to protect the electrics from getting wet, I got something a bit nicer. And they are bulbs, not LED's.
But no their computer is saying you need to swap them back, or buy like for like lights.
interesting, personally i would have taken the time to rape you on modifications!
I just told my Dad and he said ignore it. Its just a pair of lights, and if ever your asked just say no they are the originals from the car when I bought it.
Its bollocks mate, its a pair of lights which if anything are safer because they're brighter than the old pair. Nit-picking insurance companies. This is what you get when you're to honest.
All the mods that you have on your car Kambo but I can't change my lights, what a load of bs.
Just so you are aware, i pay £2000 a year insurance, with a specialist broker, they let me do what ever i want with my car, including engine swaps roll cages and retarded bodywork, my car also is entitled to like for like replacement if anything is to happen, im also allowed to drive anycar with a value up to £75,000 i could right now jump in a Aston, and drive around europe and no one could say fuck all!
Is it expensive, yes! But for me personally its worth it!
I also dont approve of people driving without declaring mods, because if anything was to happen, say you killed someone, man slaughter as such, the family would not get a payout because your mods weren't declared.
With more and more people driving with invalid insurance, pushes premiums up for guys like me, that will have to drop silly money to be able to drive their pride and joy
You do realize insurance companies aren't stupid, they can tell whats original and what aint, chassis numbers and build codes tell ALL!
£2000 a year and still cheaper than mine lol.
Well I have declared it but thats ridiculous. Thing is my car could of come with these lights when I bought it and it wouldn't matter to them when I signed up, but because I've done it whilst under them its a no. Gonna attach a mini-gun to it and drive to their HQ and ask what they think of that for a mod.![]()
you drive a pug and it costs you more than 2K a year, you need to shop around for insurance man!
It was the cheapest I could find, insurance is sky high for everyone my age I know, a bit cheaper for girls though.
Only way you could get it cheaper is to have the box fitted, fuck that I'd rather get the bus, no freedom being tucked in bed at 7pm or whatever it is.
Edit: Just remembered that I bought a new stereo, oh shit best declare that too. Pff.
move down my ways, golf gti costs £300 a year to insure![]()

Really? That so sucks, and who knows which way my insurance will be headed after I had a bump just before Christmas. At the least it'll stay at the same price but I'll loose my first years no claims next year.
Is that £300 for a first time driver? Surely not?...down here your looking at at least £1800 as a female on a 1.6
Holy, is it a thing in britain to pay that much? I pay about the half of you guys and I'm allowed to drive anything up to 500PS or 100K€ and modding isnt a problem unless it is definitly changing the cars spec but not things like chiptuning, small exhaust changes etc. and optical changes are all allowed if the parts are authorized.

the male/female thing is non existent now you know this right, its technically against trade law to give gender special treatment.
Not sure for a first time driver, if you want, ill PM you my address, get a insurance quote on your car at my house
Aye mate its worth a look, send me a PM or text me it. Might be a bit though coz my boss is coming in shortly.
I remember my Dads BMW from the early 90's, the quote was over 5k but my boss Ferrari V8 California was 4k! Work that fucker out lol.
Edit: Sounds like your brother SPS, how can they charge more for a less powerful, 'crapper', car.
Really???? coz ive been to a lot of European car shows and events, and engine mods are a no no!
The guys in Belgium will impound a car if it has a blowing exhaust because they assume its modified.
