Car photos/discussion thread

I'm still looking for a car...... went to look at a 1995 starlet yesterday and was absolute crap, the amount of rust was too damn high. So finally I found a car both me and my dad like, what do you guys think of the Volkswagen Golf Mk4?

Solid built cars. My mate's one has done over 120k and still seems to be going fine. it'll run for years and years :). They also go really well with Audi wheels as well.

The one I'm looking at is a 1.4 Petrol, dat engine would make the insurance costs sky high. I can't really afford to look at an engine larger than 1.5.

I should probably say my Corsa has given me less grief than my MG did so far. this time next year I should hopefully be able to finally get a car I really like :D. I've been looking at 205 STDT, which is a diesel version of the GTi. They're rare whch is why I'm looking for one in advance. Why Diesel? Pug Diesels are solid little engines (mostly) and it'll be a good bit cheaper than the Gti to insure... I'm setting aside some money for one over the next few months and it'll be very hard not to build a new PC :(.

ahh fair enough, the 1.4 are ok, but because of the size of the car you tend to rev the poo out them to get them to go, if you can squeeze it have a look at the 1.6 engines

I looked at a Mk5 earlier this year. It seems that Unless its the basic Match Mk5s they're really expensive to insure.

I looked at one of them 15 years ago, its slow and not as reliable as the non turbo diesel.
Thats if you can find one at all.

Far better cars out there even for a small budget.

Agreed.

Go for a polo instead. :)

One of my favorites :

And my other one , it's too bad I sold the Tundra in 2010 as I loved the horsepower .

The FJ Cruiser took more me places but sadly I just parted ways with it .

Anything with four wheels has two wheels too many in my opinion! :)

This is my steed of terror...

1997 Honda CBR600F, rebuilt from the ground up.

I will be trying to save up for this.. probably will take 2 years.

2014 Dodge Challenger SRT.

Or maybe the 2014 Ram 1500.. i'm not sure yet.

The Dodge Challenger SRT are real nice but damn expensive.
MSRP at around $45,000 for a 2014

Well actually in America most muscle/truck/SUV/sport car all cost above $30k(if you have not noticed). I could get a barebones challenger for about $24k but that is just waste of money when I get limited quality.

Besides this SRT matches any ZL1 Camaro/ GT500 Mustang. Both those cards are either turbo'd or supercharged while the SRT is not.. and cheaper.

this is why the uk sucks. yes my lr4 for you americans is a great car and family friendly. but does it make your nuts tremble when you put the boot down. that it doesnt. it takes a second to decide whether the pressing of the pedal is a mistake or not before launching forward at the speed of light. id rather a meaty v8 burble accompanied by the delightful whistle of two turbos. sweet merciful flip. or a gtr. yep muscle or a gtr and im happy

Here is my other love affair, which I still proudly own but is in need of an overhaul. It's not quite as shiny as you see here.
