Car photos/discussion thread

So far it's had a full stainless 3" system fitted, proper jap cannon, free'd up the revs and made a huge difference to the boost feeling when it kicked in.

Got mega plans, but first thing is going to be a manual gearbox ;)

I'm taking it straight to stage 2 which will be around 240-280bhp safely, But rebuilding the bottom end first just incase, they have a tendency to to throw the big end bearings! :-(

Where did you buy the car from? I saw one on gumtree or auto trader a while ago that was red like that and an auto box. Got a feeling it was in bristol aswell....

Maybe it was london. I can remember it said it was completely stock, automatic, was about 1300 and it had those wheels :P. Might not be the same one but ah well.

Probably was mate! Bought her less than 2 months ago! It was on Auto trader for ages but didn't sell as he only had one picture on the listing so I took a gamble! Paid off! Proper little treat!

So, I am looking for some help guys, I will be getting a car sometime in the near future, probably within the next year or so and I don't know what to look at. I am looking for a "cool" looking car, nothing that is a minivan or something a 70 year old drives around, has to be less than 1.3 (preferably diesel), maybe not older than 15 years, a bit on the short side length wise (parking is a huge problem here, something like a ford fiesta is fine) and maybe around the £2000ish mark. I know there are a lot of queries but it shouldn't be that hard. I was looking at the Honda Del Sol but they are between 1.5 and 2.0 Diesel so Insurance would be a nightmare for me.

I'm not sure why you'd want a diesel living on Malta? (or any small island for that matter). Especially a 15 year old, since the chances will be it'll have been used for short journeys which will have ruined the engine in that time.

You'd be better with a well looked after, small engined petrol, and less than 1.3 doesn't give you many options for a cool car.

Maybe look at an older Fiesta, Clio or Corsa to get you by for a couple of years until insurance goes down, then think about getting something nicer.

£2000 including or excluding insurance? :P. I guess you could possibly pick up a mk1 golf for that...

mainly because diesel is cheaper than petrol and I think it is more efficient, well I am not looking for a 15 year old, not older than 15 years, probably 8 years would be the sweet spot.

I'm just asking for opinions here until I am ready to buy and eventually will visit some auto dealers and see what deals I find :)

Excluding :) Golfs are in my list of considered cars

1.3L makes me think of 1 car in particular... And an epic one at that, it is small like you ask for, 1.3L, cheap insurance, looks "cool" and is fast! That my friend is a Toyota Starlet Glanza V

Like this. I can't use forum link as I'm on my phone so sorry about the big link http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1997-TOYO...2319962?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item461654155a

As much as I like it and I wish I had one, locally glanza's are highly regarded and a quick search to see how much they usually go for revealed that the cheapest one I managed to find is at about £5000 :(
