I pulled into a bay last minute so wasn't straight, put it into reverse and only checked my mirror, not the passenger side or through the window. Reversed back and as I did a car was going past and bump.
It made a dint on his wheel arch probably about 2" wide, and a bit of a scuff on his door. My car is okay, just a slight scuff. He was good enough to take my number and when he has a qoute for fixing his car he will see if I want to pay the bill instead of involving the insurance companies. Last thing I want is for my insurance to go up past £219 and loose my no claims next year.
Gutted though, its one of them were you don't think you'll do a bump because I drive well, not an idiot, but made a simple mistake and it cost me. I think I had it in my head that it was a one way system, its like a big retail park. Silly me.

I wont tell you i pay £2000 insurance lol!
If the wing is plastic, the dent will pop out and polish up, if its metal its gonna need work, if its creased, thats a new wing
Looking at £100 minimum either way, if things need painting, then man hours need to be paid, a very good painter/panel beater charge about £35 an hour
Ah bummer, I'm gutted but at the same time its kind of lucky when you think about it...its gonna make me much more careful and to check everywhere all the time, better doing it that way at like 3mph and him probably at 5 than going 30 round a rondabout or something.
Just a good job it wasn't a person I hit!

Yeah I think I am going to have to wait until next year too, money is just far too tight at the moment. What bike you thinking about getting fella?
I'm not too sure atm mate, but I want an 600cc which will be as much as I can get. I think there are a lot of new A2 bikes coming out next year which will be priced around 4 grand so I might if I can afford it, get a brand new one. Or maybe finance part of it or something.
I'm just not seeing anything that I fancy second hand and the bike will be a toy so I'd love to get new.

Ahh fair play mate, at the moment I am looking at either a zxr400/ car 400 or a gsr750. It's gonna depend on the funds that I can muster up like, gonna get my full test out the way before the summer that's for sure

Mate don't go for a black bike, colours get you seen an trust me you need all the help you can get for people to see you.

Haha maybe not pink, though I think people would definitely notice you haha. If you do get a dark coloured bike, get a bright coloured brainsaver dude. my bike has a fair bit of chrome an people still don't see me, personally I think car drivers should be made to take there CBT as part of the driving test.
Gsxr600 good well balanced, lacking 10bhp compared to the zx6.
Cbr600rr not been updated in a while, 5bhp power compared to the zx6.
R6 not been updated since 2008 still on a level with the zx6.
Zx6 updated recently, most power, win every 600 stock race class for a reason.
Thats the new ones though, depends what budget you are spending.
I might be saying lacking power but each bike above will top 150mph.
Also keep in mind a sports 600 will need to be showing 10,000 before anything interesting happens, its harder to ride than a thousand.
For a first bike take a look at a z750 130+ mph, plenty of bottom end, in the right hands can easy keep with the sports stuff.

Topgear really annoyed me. The cars they had are waay too nice and shouldn't have been ruined. I mean they're pretty much £75k in total (based on a nice Lotus, a decent-ish 928 and a rough mach 1 mustang). I preferred it when they had cheap, crappy cars that were close to being ruined anyway.
