Hey there

Im trying to install Windows 7 on a new pc with the h81i plus asus mobo
im using an external CD drive with an original copy of Windows 7 64 bit, but I cant install it... It keeps booting into Asus ez mode bios.

Need help thanks

I've spammed the f12 and it comes with this messages: "please ensure that usb flash drive with available space is plugged in and try again." I got a 1 tb hdd

It should be in your boot order settings somewhere in the bios. Never used an Asus bios so i can't really tell you where to go. Just gotta search around in there.

There you go. Just ask for more if you need it! Thanks

Click the button to the right of 'Boot Option #1' and select your DVD drive. Or is that 'TSSTcorpCD'? That would be an usualy name for a DVD drive. Could you click it and tell us which options you get?

PS: Paste your image links between
insertimage.gif
button) to show them on the forum itself. I'll edit your post this time :)

You need to right-click the image and then click 'copy image URL', it's a slightly different URL ;)

Alright, make sure that TSSTcorpCDDVD is Boot Option #1 for now and then head into CD/DVD ROM Drive BBS Priorities and make sure that TSSTcorpCDDVD is the #1 priority. Then hit F10 to save and exit and try again.

I had that bios on one of my countless asus motherboards in the past year :)

Simply, in the "boot override" tab, highlight "TSSTCorp....." and press enter (or just double click it), and it should boot from that device (which in this case is the dvd drive)

Almost had it!
It just comes up on the boot menu.. i didn't press f12 this time when it was booting, should i do that? also, notice that the cd drive dissapeared from the boot priority list :S

I tried what you said RamboOC but it just came back to this screen :s

Please don't double post, use the

button instead :) I've merged your posts for you.

Might sound stupid but is the drive plugged into a USB3 port? My mouse didn't work during the Windows 7 install when it was in a USB3 port, despite working in the UEFI Bios. Might have something to do with missing USB3 drivers.

Yeah the cd drive is in a 3.0. I just tried changing it to 2.0 but i got the same result :s
Had problems with the mouse and the cd drive too... they kept disconnecting and connecting

Have you tried installing it from a USB rather than an external DVD drive?

Not yet, do you recommend i should try that?
