Can you please confirm that these fittings will be suitable :)

Okay, going to be ordering the parts for my WC loop in 2 days time and im listing out the components that i need to buy.

The trouble im having with are the fittings.
Im going to be using 7/16 tubing and 1/2 barbs.
Im thinking of using XSPC's 1/2 barb, 45 and 90's because they're all made by the same company and therefore (ithink) they will have the same colour/texture, whatever.
So the main problem is that, will this be able to grip the tubing well enough that it doesnt fall out causing a massive headache and a dead computer?
How about this? Or this? Both of these, i cant seem to find the corresponding 45 and 90 though, which is why i resulted in the XSPC one.

These are the 45's and 90's im thinking of using, any problems?

Can I ask what tubing you're using?
It should be fine really. My 1/2 barbs and 7/16 tubing was always incredibly tight. Some of the softer tubing, and maybe tubing with thinner walls will mould around the fittings easier and so this may happen.
It should be fine really. If you think it's a problem, maybe look at other tubing.
I was using Masterkleer on mine, and that held tightly all the time.

Got this from a thread that was posted earlier to this. And just want to make sure.

As long as you're using clamps with them, any of those barbs will be fine. I wasn't aware XSPC was making rotary fittings now. I've had problems with two Bitspower rotary 90s in the past, so these days I prefer to avoid rotary-anything. (I still use 45s and 90s of the non-rotary varieties.) But I haven't used these XSPC rotaries so I can't advise either way. Likewise never used XSPC tubing, so no comment. If you're planning to run without clamps or ties, spend a few extra days leak testing before putting any power on.

Use plenty of kitchen roll when leak testing.
REMEMBER do not supply power to any components except your pump (best to keep psu outside the case at this stage).
IF it leaks, drain off, allow components to thoroughly dry,re-check all fittings,re fill and off you go again.
It is very unusual to find leaks if you take your time initially.

In most cases, 7/16 tubing takes a lot of effort to get onto 1/2 barbs. You will need a cup of boiling water or something similar handy. I used a hair dryer for mine, and tbh couldn't have done it without.

Bit of advice - look for fittings that have multiple ribbs on them, and preferably with a more pointed edge like:

The only leaks I've ever really had have been from fittings not being screwed in tight enough (usually from fumbling around too much trying to get tight tubing on and ending up loosening the barb without realising) - rather than from the coolant leaking from the hose to the barb.

But i meant regarding the fittings. Should i send them back?



The whole point of this thread was to check and to see what your thoughts are on that XSPC 1/2 barb fitting, whether if that 1 'head' (if you'd call it that') is enough to grip the tubing and for it not to fall off without the use of a clamp or cable tie.

+yes bitspower has the 'ideal correct' fittings but they are damn expensive.

The XSPC ones will be fine dude, don't worry. They have a pretty sharp point to them, and should be quite a lot easier to get on initially than others. They'll hold absolutely fine without clamps, assuming your tubing is decent.

I used the Bitspower ones I linked you - tbh, I don't see those ones as being too expensive. I agree you do pay a premium for the name, but that's kind of what watercooling is all about IMO.

90 degree fittings I used:

I got a couple of batches of the 45 degree ones. The first batch were perfect and dead easy to screw in and out. There second set weren't as easy as the rotary section was a lot tighter - but I guess that'll be luck of the draw with whatever you buy.

i have used masterkleer and xspc tubing with 1/2 id without clips no bother. i just use a large dose of manstrength to push the cable on as hard as possible. never had a single leak. i tried the 7/16 when i first started and felt it wouldnt be possible to fit in my system without snapping pcbs and dethreading blocks so i found regular 1/2 id of a good quality matched with bitspower barbs. (search around some places do them for less than 2 quid each) works a treat. some people have said though that masterkleer oem stuff is a much better colour as the packaged stuff has a bit of a yellow tinge. mine does atleast. the xspc didnt. good luck my man

Alright, ill try out the XSPC tubing. I could always return it as i live close to OCUK and im going to be getting tubing from there. But what im really hoping is that they restock on that Primochill in the next couple of days
