Can you have too many fans?

The reason i ask, is that im looking to add more fans (noise means nothing to me).

now i got some pics of my rig at present and what i want to put in:

Current Fan List:

1. Processor Fan (standard one that came with Opteron 185, 2.6ghz)

2. Case Fan, mounted on side of case

3. Case Fan, mounted at the back (Coloured)

4. Case Fan, mounted at the back (Blue)

5. Exhaust

6. Graphics: Asus X1950XTX

Temperatures as attached thumbnail.

Now the chipset fan has been replaced with: Zalman Chipset Cooler, due to the chipset fan being a big pile of pants.

Im looking to get a few more fans, now my question is: Will it be so many that it will have an adverse effect?

Im looking at buying:

http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.aspx?sku=333423 to go under my graphics card, no. 6

http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.aspx?sku=330694 for the memory.

Also a new processor fan, although I’m not sure what will fit and so on.

Your thoughts please.

not really, the sky's the limit :p

but if you have fans trying to work against eachother, it might affect your performance in a bad way...

just make sure you've got a push/pull or drag method, and your fine...

by that i mean, either have an even number of in's and out's, of your case

or have more out, than in...

then your temps should improve :)

cool, thanks for the quick response!

any idea on a cpu cooler? ill check the dimensions before i buy, but what are the best ones around these days?

Tuniq Tower, Thermaltake...ermm...cant remember what it was called, but it was huge...

Scythe infinity/ninja

any of those would do you perfectly :)

Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme?

Its usually the top dog on forums for air cooling with the right fans stuck on it

You Can create a negative pressure area in your case / hotspots if there are counteracting fans acting ~equally taking airflow from a zone from different vectors with not airflow feeding that zone, just keep the Out/In balanced and u shd be fine

Ones ive looked at being possibilities:

Tuniq Tower 120 Ultra

AKASA EVO120 V2

Scythe Ninja PLUS

The layout on these are what im after i think, that way the tower fans will push the hot air from it straight out. right?

i cant see the thermaltake one on the list:

i only really shop there. . .

With what you said then joe; does that mean that if i simply unscrew a case fan, for example, and reattach the other way around, that would presumably do the opposite of it previously? blowing = expelling and expelling = blowing
