A solid rig indeed. A little over-zealous with the PSU choice, but I guess it adds a little headroom if you go through a mid-life crisis and order a couple more 580s

You got pics of this impressive system?

Also why did you chose to get the 580's over the 680's, 7970's or even 670's. All three of them would be better choices. Secondly, get a smaller power supply, something like a 850w would be plenty, that would leave you with enough money for an SSD 120GB SSD's can be had for less than £80 and i highly recommend getting one to install the OS on and any frequently used programs. I have all my games on my SSD and the loading times are brilliant, i would have had Widows 7 installed on it if i could be bothered to go through the trouble of re-installing it on my computer.

Have to wonder if your only getting the 580's for the water cooling.

Also why get 580's when as said above... you can get 680's hydro copper.

With that you will be able to run the rig on 750W although an 850W would give good headroom for upgrades.

Also can you give us a look of the loop specs?

there is nothing wrong with using a 1200watt psu or 1000watt psu. if thats what the builder wants to run. Yes a 850 will work fine (750 would be running past recommended effeciency rating)

I think it'd be a monster rig with future expanability.

What about an HDD/SSD combo? Or do you already have those items?

120GB SSD for a boot drive is a necessity imo as they are so cheap currently. You're spending quite a bit on your system and an SSD would fit in rather nicely

i would suggest a 850w PSU as your system will only be using about 750w peak power also i would suggest looking to get a GTX 680 instead and if your quick you can get a kingston hyper x 3k series SSD (120gb) from scan.co.uk

hope this is some help to you.

I am going with a 1200w psu because the 580 need 2 8 pins and a six pin each and ive heard that the 680 are horid with normal operating. Also I will be getting 2 Force Gt 240GB SSDs in raid 0. I will be moding that case to put a 240 on the bottem and put a 120 on the back.

Thanks for all of the feedback and I will try to get my loop up soon too.

Sorry it took me so long to get the loop up I was busy creating the rad enclosure on sketchup and getting some questions answered.

400mm res -> mcp55 -> mpc55 -> MOBO block 1 -> ram block 2 -> cpu block -> ram block 1 -> MOBO block 2 -> GTX 580 1 -> gtx 580 2 -> 480mm rad 1 -> 480mm rad 2 -> 480mm rad 3 -> 400mm res

The 2 mcp55's will be in an external encosure with the 400mm res and the 3 rads.
