Can I cut my power supply cables?

I've got a Bitfenix Prodigy so the space for wire management in this thing is very limited. I have a HX650 which is semi modular. I need 1 molex connector for my fan controller but the plug that comes with the power supply has 4 which is a lot of extra cables that's taking up room.

Can I just cut the extra's off at tape off the end with electrical tape?

The same goes for my SATA power connectors. I've got 1 HDD and 1 SSD so I only need 2 of these. Can I cut off the extra two?

I have no plans in future to be needing anymore molex or sata as I have a full length graphics card so really only space for 2-3 HD's.

Can I do this and will it be safe? Or do I just need to cable manage my way out of it? :D

You can, Just make sure to keep the wires from making contact with each other. If it is a molex string, you could just detach the second molex's wires from the first.
I would recommend you detach the wires from the pins.
Electrical tape works, but it can always unravel.

iirc there is a short cable kit for the prodigy
can't remember any exact information, but should be easy to find i guess

Prefer corsairs cables as much nice braiding. All black wires etc.

How would I go about removing the wires from the molex pin?

And what would I do for the sata power connectors?

that'd be a Silverstone PSU cable kit.. won't fit the corsair HX-series PSU.

you can snip the daisy-chain from the nearest connector. yes some sort of
non-conductive material to prevent electrical shortage.

word of warning, if you do have to send your PSU in for RMA, that will VOID
the warranty (altering). it even applies to harnesses. for all they know that is
what defected the PSU. altering a second cable set is better. if RMA concerns
are an issue.

for the SATA, there is a last terminal, remove it and snip to length, then
reattach that last connector. no need in electrical tape or what-not.
