Hello guys.

Brief question.

Ive got a stock mach 1 with a 3.0e E0 p4 stuck in there.

Iam running it at 3.75 at default watts.

Iam sitting idle in windows at 6c > with abits thermal probe.

on the front of the mach it says -36 .

If i run any program the temps jump up really quickly .. to

9c ( ie word or sumat equvilent) but then the temps drop back down,

and dont go up.

under full cpu burn i have seen tempratures rise to +20c>+25c on the abit monitor. On the front dail it lowest ive seen it say it -27.

(after 3 hours)

Now are my tempratures ok ?

with out taking the head off, to check contact how do i know if i have a contact issue ?

Iam a little new to phase change :) (i used the stock washers on the head)

MBM 5 will report the same temps as the Abit monitor as the board is calibrated to use specific sensors located on the motherboard.

The best thing to do would be to mount an external thermal probe near your CPU to get near as damn it core temperatures.

Yeah its hard to get someat that will fit the thin film probes dont like subzero temps and the others are size of a 22 calibre bullet

Take 10c off those temps and more realistic idea of what you got :)

Same with most abit boards, certianly was on me ol' IC7-G :)

Use MBM5 and use 10c worth of compensation on the board :) Plus its a Prescott which are mini toasters and industrial heating systems!
