Calling all OC3D Members :)

Old hardware can not only score points for the hardware catagory but also contribute to the team effort.

Also they are not as volatile as going for golbal points.

just viewed my sig!!! now that does need updating

hi guys :wavey: just wonderin if my setups are any good for this

i have a laptop that has been upgraded from 1gb to 2gb of ram and upgraded the cpu from a 1.73 celeron to a core2duo t2050

also 1st pc (runnin) q6600,8800gt and a 8600gt as physx with 4gb ram

and 2nd pc (comin soon) q9550 with 4870x2 tri fan and 4gb ram

Pulled in about 14 points yest, with 2 golds, 1 sivler, 2 3rds and a 5th iirc.

It's that easy guys, help me out here!

It's getting harder to get any scores with my rig. Having an up to date rig doesn't do you any favours for scoring unless you are on SLi, phase or LN2. I can't compete with the scores peeps are getting using these. They should have seperate sections for the different types of cooling imho.

I am going to build a few rigs, using some old hardware I have collecting dust in the workshop, and clock the hell out of them. I will probably have more chance of getting some scores that way:)

Managed to shave a few milliseconds off your Wprime 1mb time Ham. Got a half decent score on the 32mb too. I have just dl'ed vantage and 06 again, but not holding out for any scores on em with this 4850 on air I am running atm.

Nice job stu, now we just need everyone to try!

I just cracked out a few benchmarks of the I7 rig i had to review, not got one to play with properly :(.

Edit:

looking better!

Guys, just want to encourage you and maybe give you some pointers.

for example, grab an old 478 mobo then check ebay for old celerons and p4. they go for peanuts and are almost guaranteed points for you. get some good air on the cpu and a strong fan blowing on your northbridge. you can bench all cpu benchies for each cpu [there are countless 478 cpus categories] more than any other. then all those agp cards for 3d benchies.

Oc3d have a great community with a large membership cmon guys get benching! if you could pull 30-40 points each in a month, you would be a force to be reckoned with! follow Ham's example and dig deep.:)

I've been rooting through some cupboards in my PC room, and found some CPU's. Here's what I found:

AMD Sempron 2400+ SKT A (10.0x Multi, 166 MHz FSB) (BIXJB stepping)

AMD Athlon 1500+ SKT A (10.0x Multi, 133MHz FSB) (AGKGA stepping)

Intel Celeron D 325 SKT 478 (19.0x Multi, 533MHz FSB) (SL7NU stepping)

AMD Athlon 1000 SKT A (10.0x Multi, 200MHz FSB) (AJFA stepping)

I am going to have a scrounge around the workshop later to see if I have any mobo's and if so I will give em a run later. I also need to find an AGP GFX card too. I will be caning these CPU's if I manage to put together a rig from them, so hopefully I may get some decent scores. I only got through half the boxes today in the cupboard, so there may be some more old CPU's knocking about too.

I managed to get a few more points last night with an Intel Pentium DC E2200, and with my main rig too.

Nice one stu. If you can't find a 478 board send that chip my way and ill introduce it to sub-zeroness :p.

I am looking for some old stuff in the shed but there aint much there...

any1 got any old stuff they can send ma way? Really want to get benching and am a good clocker man ;)

Just found another CPU mate, a Pentium 4 1.5Ghz (SL5UF stepping). I will send them to you if you want after I have had a play today:)

I found a 478 mobo, but have never heard of the manufacturer (Titan). I have the P4 1.5Ghz installed, with 1GB of PC100 memory. The graphics card is an AGP Creative 3D Prophet II MX 64mb. Everything is working fine, and I got XP installed, but havent set everything else up yet. Not sure what sort of results I will get with it. I havent had a chance to play yet, as I was using my daughter's desk and she's off to bed now. I got the rig set up (sort of!), and will give it a go tomorrow. The setup is sat on an acrylic tray I made for one of my previous case builds. I am looking forward to squeezing this config, OLD SKOOL FTW!!!:D:D

EDIT:

Just found some more 478 mobo's in the workshop:

Asus P4M-800T (I will be using this one now, as it supports upto DDR400 and not PC100:D)

MSI MS6787 Ver.2 (Not sure if this mobo is dead)

An OEM board, no name on manufacturer on it
