Bye bye OCZ...

why would this be funny, always thought they had pretty cool SDD's imo altough i'm not that up to date in that section ^^

OCZ SSDs have a big reputation for poor quality around here. I have one and it's always been fine though, maybe I'm just lucky :)

For a start Toshiba & Hercules taking over is a massive bonus!! No more faulty PSUs, and I never said it was funny..

You are not joking

I had seven of their SSDs fail on me, I did RMA one but the replacement failed as well. The other six (pic below) I ended up throwing the lot in the bin.

After all the trouble they gave me, it gave me a lot more pleasure throwing them in the bin than trying to RMA them.

We'll that's great when my Vector inevitably fails I will not be able to RMA it now.

How can anyone consider these good products when they are not even able to enter Sleep Mode without failing in a spectacular form.

They fail when you enter sleep mode
They fail when you enter sleep mode
They fail when you enter sleep mode
They fail when you enter sleep mode
They fail when you enter sleep mode
They fail when you enter sleep mode

I just saw this too. Let's hope Toshiba improve the products a LOT. Tbh though it's very hard to repair a destroyed reputation. I'm pretty sure no one on these forums will really start to use OCZ anytime soon

Toshiba SSDs are really solid but slow. OCZ stuff is fast but go into insta-death almost as you take them out the packaging. THIS COULD BE GOOD

I found their RevoDrives were reliable but any new PC build I do will have Samsung SSDs in as the performance is top notch.

why would you buy six OCZ ssds

Toshiba manufacture their own 19nm nand flash. Should be very good! Hopefully they can produce it cheaper instead of having to buy flash from others and therefore drive prices down and better competition.

I don't know but any time a company that caters almost exclusively to us enthusiasts goes tits up, that sucks. I know they brought a lot of it on themselves but I still don't like it. With AMD and probably Intel abandoning us, we can't afford too many enthusiast friendly brands to collapse.

With this in mind we should start seeing some real interesting developments in the not to distant future :)

My OCZ hasn't been problem free either, it shipped with faulty firmware and gave me BSODs constantly. Luckily it got solved with a firmware update.
