buying second hand?

Im very new to the extreme cooling scene. Ive got some spare cash and have been thinking of purchasing a mach 2.

I dont have the money to spend on a new unit, but can afford a used one.

At the moment there are 2 on ebay 6834476507 and 6835270262

this one seems to be the better choice 6835270262

what questions should i be asking the seller?

But normal questions to ask are:

Does it work?

Does it come with any guarantee that it will work when it arrives?

Can you see it working if you commit to buy?

Ask for some pics of it frosted up not connected to the CPU?

Ask if it comes complete with any CPU fitting kits and how much seal string?

Has it been modded/repaired in any way (eg: Regassed) if so by whom?

Can't think of any more off the top of me head.

I have a feeling that the 2nd unit is being auctioned from a guy who sometimes frequents these forums called CHEAP (ask him directly dont go off what I say) - that being the case then it'd be a good buy especially with the LIAN LI panels and at that price - I'd get in there quick before someone here beats ya to it

Ask how many operating hours are on the clock, also where he bought it from how old it is and if it has any warranty..

But you should never realy let the evap head bend over like that its not realy good for the unit

So is it always better for it to be resting on the top of the case? What kind of damage could occur?

if it's over extened the weakest point of the flexi tube is at the base - it's more possible to crack the brazing if its left like that.

especially considering what you get, i mean you could buy a brand new lian case cheaper and make the mod yourself if you were half decent at metal work!

i know! Im tempted to get in touch with the guy selling the other one on ebay. It had no bids and it was the black lian li style case i was looking for. Any body got his email or msn or something??
