Building a new gameing PC, but I dont know what to do about the GPU

I'm planning on getting myself a new PC for gaming, it will contain an i7-2500k cpu, 8 or 16 GB 1333 MHz RAM, probably a P67-B3 chipset motherboard and a OCZ VERTEX 3 2.5" 120GB SSD.

Now I'm not quite sure what to do when it comes to the graphics card. At the moment I've got a 460 GTX card. I don't want to spend alot of money on the graphics card so I would like to know if the best option is to buy another 460 and run SLI or buy a 560 GTX, and when thats not sufficient enough, buy another to run them in SLI. The last option would be to wait for the new series (I assume 6xx).

As of what I've seen a 560 GTX does not cost a lot more than a 460 GTX, but I have no idea of how SLI works so I would not know which would give me the best performance.

Thanks for any help.

I'd add another 460 which would give you near 580 performance but if you want to stick with a single card get a 560ti.

I'd add another 460, the whole point of getting a fast single GPU at the time is so you can drop in another whats the point in that if people just keep replacing it with the excuse drop another in later?

Seriously, why buy a 560 TI when by adding another 460 (which is cheaper than a 560 TI) would give you so much better performance?

Longevity. I'd take the newer tech with the intention of adding later. But personally i'd save money by getting a smaller SSD and then add a GTX570 with the £100 saved.

But there both Directx 11 cards? And two 460's would out perform a 570?

Also depending what games you play a SSD can be more beneficial. Eg, I play a few MMORPG and two 460's and a 570 would both top them out but a SSD actually removes quite a lot of the lag time from stuff like accessing maps and moving areas.

I mean if they are going to buy a 560/570 now and then another in a few months then I'd agree with you but if it's going to be a year or two then get a second 460 now and then wait for a midrange GTX 580 equivalent.

Just my opinion.
