Also, to the threads author i would too recommend 8800GTS seems to be alot better buy, since it outperforms x1950XT like taking a candy outta kiddies hand. In other words, a lot faster nearly twice on some games.
Ahhh, I knew there had to be something missing from that price quote, it was too good to be true! I guess I need to ask myself, how much can my budget stretch... <g>
I figure I'll run XP professional, I have a copy already.
I was planning on getting an LCD panel. I had thought to get a ViewSonic VX922, a 19" 2ms panel which www.tomshardware.com rate as the fastest panel on the market today. Ham recommended a 22" one, see above, but tomshardware has no review testing it's actual latency, nor could I find another site which actually tests latency in it's reviews. Tomshardware has never let me down when it comes to hardware testing ;0)
EDIT: It's not obvious but I was replying to brownie's last post on page 1.. You guys are brilliant, you've given me a lot to think about! If anyone has anything else to mention, fire away!
EDIT: kataras, yeah 8800GTS would always be the choice if budget wasn't a concern. I'll take all the suggestions here and see what I can come up with, hopefully including an 8800GTS
EDIT: darkorb/fadz23q, excellent news thanks. Some questions: what frame rates are you getting on your systems? As I understand it, the higher your frame rate the greater the chance of ghosting? .. and .. what resolution do you run your games at? The native res for a 22" is 1600x1200 right? So.. can you run all your games at that res and get good frame rates? or do you have to lower some detail settings? I guess it will depend on the rest of your system.

Correct. Fadz has a 8800GTX with a e6600 and darkorb has a 8800gts superclocked with an athlon and both have OC'd. They will both be able to run any game out there at those resolutions with full eye candy.
