Greetings OC3D Forums!

This is my first post here, so I apologize if I've posted this somewhere I'm not supposed to or were this sort of thing doesn't get posted.. Anyway!

I'm looking to build a "Budget" Intel 2600k build.

The parts I PLAN to use are the following;

Motherboard: P67A-G45 [MSI]

Processor: Intel Core i7-2600K 3.40GHz

Could you guys suggest some good 1600Mhz Ram & Case I could use as-well as these parts,

I have the rest. ;D

Any reason you need to go with the 2600k? It's said a lot around here, but unless your folding or doing heaving CPU encoding etc, the 2500k is a cheaper choice.

For RAM, look at Mushkin Blackline or G.Skill. As far as the case goes, good budget friendly cases are the Coolermaster HAF 912 and the Coolermaster 690II Advanced.

I am doing Heavy after effects & Sony Vegas rendering (I do it for a living so it must be fast)

Thats why I went with the 2600k If thats not the right choice, do say so. Cause' I havn't ordered anything yet! x']

& I have a HAF 912 Plus right now for the rig. But I recently picked up a huge love for white cases. =P [ I blame Tom..]

Thankyou for the feedback!

Forgive my ignorance, but is there CUDA support in those programs for rendering? I'd go with the 2600k if I were you then with the work you do. Nothing worse than waiting on a computer when you don't have to.

There is a white version of the 690II advanced. I'm pretty sure Tom even used it in one of his builds.

Thats a good question mate, I'm not sure myself, if there is I'm not sure if I will end up upgrading from the AMD 9950 Black eddition I'm using right now.

Although that things getting pretty slow....

What is the budget for this "budget" build?

Going for the highest priced sandybridge chip in a budget build seems a bit crazy.

Are you going to be overclocking the rig?

Well considering I have the graphics card & the case & the hard drives.

Just needed recomendations for Mobo & ram. =]

& most likely yes, the CPU to 4.6 - 4.8 Thats where I got my friends stable 2600k

For the motherboard, I'd look at the Z68 Sabertooth or Gigabyte Z68X-UD5-B3. A cheaper alternative is the Gigabyte Z68X-UD4-B3.

Board is a good choice. Ram is probably ok, but check how much space there is under your heatsink, as it might clash because of the extra cooling fins on the top.
