im looking to build a budget gaming machine and would like some advice on it, below are some parts im looking at. im trying to figure if i should raid 2 corsair force 3 60gb drives or a single corsair force 3 120gb as a boot drive. ill be running windows 7 ultimate 64bit. also is the Intel Core i7-3820 Sandy Bridge-E 3.6GHz a good enough processor??? i live on a tight budget and building things a piece at a time. and my last question is would a corsair ax650 be good for a dual sli or crossfire or should i go ax 750. i already have a corsair 800d case, 22" samsung 3d monitor, and some 5.1 speakers i plan to reuse for the build. ty in advance.

Edit: i put together a build list so u all can see idea beter. its at http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=14715214

I don't think any x79 build could be labelled as budget. Wouldn't you be better off with a 2600k/ ivy equivalent? Same core and thread count as a 3820 (I believe) and overclocking potential.

The board and ram will eat into a chunk of money, Picking up a 2500k, a mid range z68 board and 8gb of 1600mhz will save you a bunch over all and get pretty much no noticeable loss in performance in games.

PSU wise it depends on what cards you might be putting in crossfire/sli eventualy, if its something like a pair of 6870/560 ti a 650w will be plenty, if your looking at something higher like 6970/570/580 a 750w/850w would give better headroom over all.

what about something like this though i know not everything on the market yet

ASRock’s Fatal1ty z77

some kind of dual 560's

Kingston SSDNow V+200 120GB

WD Caviler Black 1.5TB

light-on bluray burner with lightscribe

media card reader

im not sure what kind of psu to get but thinking a corsair ax650, ax750, or ax850. also not sure what ram to get, want to do atleast a 8gb setup. basically want a good gaming pc i can expand the storage ability on is the them of this build. any advice is appreciated.

do you all think a shuttle sz77r5 barebones loaded with a radeon 7770 would make a good pc and power a 30" monitor for gaming. the barebones has a 500w, well it will when it releases. i don't plan on a 30" right a way, but hope to down the road. it is a z77 build so have to wait for release but seams like a nice simplified build for the most part.

7770 isn't worth buying for budget gaming right now, see here: http://youtu.be/viQYLDKMqzY

Also, the 78xx's are out very soon and they may well lower prices further.

As for the shuttle, I don't have experience of the company. However, generally prebuilt pcs like that often contain cheap shoddy components, to cut cost and increase profit. I'd be especially conscious of the psu.
