Brand new rig

Spent the past week putting together a basket of components to buy for my new PC. Got it all finalized and ordered yesterday, the parts arrived this morning and it's all up and running :)

Specs:
AMD FX-8320
Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P
8GB Corsair Vengeance Pro (1866, CL9)
Aerocool DS 200 Case (With Window)
Coolermaster G550M PSU
Corsair H75
Corsair Force LX 128GB SSD

Planning on getting an AMD R9 270X next month and also a white LED strip to light up the inside a little.

For some reason it won't let me add any pictures? :(

Use imgur or something dude - its because you are a new member. If you edit the post it will need to be approved again too

Yeah, it just says "do not post external images, upload them instead". This was inside img tags.

Is there a post count limit before i can post images?

Think it 5 posts before you can link pictures, and not sure of the limit to get them uploaded, but it between 20 and 50, maybe 1 of the mods can clarify for you.

Thanks :) Well this is post #5, so if you right i'll edit the first post with images when i get home later

(Also are there still people beside me that want to build a PC with an FX cpu, woah!)

Been there done that. Currently run an 8320. Its alright if you only use your rig for tasks that need a load of cpu cores and you're on a budget. The 9590 isn't worth it unless you need a streaming rig/certain pro programs rig and can't afford a six core i7.

I'm going to watch this with interest as FX cpu rigs are a rarity :).

Very clean and kudos for keeping to a colour scheme :). Only thing I would change would be to flip the Rad so it has the tubing coming out the bottom, but thats just me :).

Thanks, gotta stick to a colour scheme. Always done Black/Blue so thought i'd go Black/White this time :)

I may give that a try later on and see what it looks like. Need to change the fan anyway as the cable is yellow and red and it's annoying me a bit :p

Its just personal preference about the orientation I think because I like the CPU socket to be clear and it just meant that I was able to see the H60 block better if I put the tubes going under and closer to the GPU :).

Gave it a whirl but I prefer the tubes at the top, each to their own :)

Forgot to add, i'm currently running a GTX460 from my previous rig. Will be upgrading this soon to a R9 270X.

Looking at the blue PCB from the GTX460 through the window of my white/black rig is killing me :(

TBH I hadn't even noticed! How much do you have to play around with when it comes to the GPU?

Well I want to spend no more than £200, but I also want to get a Corsair AF140 for the front to replace the aerocool one, and another SP120 to replace the fan that came with the H75 (it's quite noisy compared to the others, even though it's almost the same fan). Also a white LED strip. All this will be around £40.

So I could stretch to an R9 280 but I think I would be pushing the limits of the PSU. Should have just spent an extra £5-10 really and got a 600-650w

Actually if you trust the PSU and its of a high quality (not familiar with how good CM is for PSU's) you should be fine, even with 50w allowance for a spike youre still under 500w from the wall if you bought a 280x!
