Bodybuilding/Powerlifting

today is the first day of skipping chest day in 18 months, I feel like shit, this morning I weighed myslef and I weighed at 71, which is really odd as two weeks ago I was at a constant 73 and 2 kg are a alot for 2 weeks of always being with a calorie surplus (although I am suppose to be cutting lol). I will do chest tomorrow and postpone abs for wednesday. I will skip legs this week as they have been working like hell and deserve a break ( saturday I was feeling sick with all the soreness haha)

Rest is good :) I've tapered off of squats myself as of late, dropped the weight down from 170kg to 150kg and today I've decided not to train and just focus on my studies.

I got 200kg 3x3 on Sunday for Deadlifts so I think I deserve a little rest =). Getting closer to my goal of 230-250kg in December.

Minor rant incoming!

Is it only me that encounter people everyday that will stress out the fact that they will start a diet "tomorrow", well I encounter about 3 of them every single f'ing day, it's kinda fun making fun of them but its starting to get boring.

Also I have these three guys with me at Uni that actually believe they are bodybuilders lol, guy number 1 says he does a lot of training as he is all about aesthetics, I swear to god his arms are less than 8 inches in circumference and looks anorexic. Guy number 2 walks like Schwarzenegger back in his day with flared arms looking like his lats are as large as Rambo's quads :P The 3rd guy just talks about going to the gym everyday and eating a lot, and there I am, just laughing at them. Its not that I'm not supportive of others, I usually give advice to others and help them when they need, especially on the dieting and nutrition side, I just hate d'bags!

Lol I know what you mean fella.

There is nothing more satisfying either than walking into a new gym (an actual dirty run down hardcore bodybuilding gym) in my case and getting snarled at coz your the new guy, then benching a ton more than those and from then on they give the nod when you walk in.

But at the same time, keep your head down because it's been known for that gym to have fights. When I was working at the other gym, a guy came in and told us some fella came in, grabbed a weight bar and beat the crap out of another fella with it. Drugs and roids probably.

Edit: An update from me and my training, I'm really not into it as much as I was, I guess working in a gym, training on courses and wanting to be a big dude makes it much easier. I left the other gym a few months ago now so I'm back to just training at home after work, I've got enough gear to do so

7ft Olympic Barbel
Olympic EZ Curl Bar
Olympic Dumbells
85kg Olympic Plates

Plus an heavy duty olympic bench which I bought a few weeks ago (I used to have a bench with squat stands on but gave it away when I was at the gym). It's just going to get tougher now, it's flippin freezing when I get home at 4:30 onwards, and if I get home at 5 then it's pitch black outside then.

It's also crap not having a training partner anymore. I could do with a new picture though because I'm bigger than my profile image now which was getting on for two years ago! (Just not the type of person who likes taking pictures of himself)

Edit: I also got fat callipers last week and have 20% bodyfat. I don't know what I used to have two years ago, but with a tense abs were almost out, so guessing it was much lower than 20!

I've given up on dieting and cutting for this year. I won't get down to 110kg for the comp and I won't get down to 100kg for the end of summer/spring. So yeah. I'm hovering at 118-120kg up about 4-5 kg from last time. Fuck dieting lol >.< although I'll give it a go I guess. Next 2 months I'll reduce kcals to about 2k a day which is considerably low.

Nice one Tom, didn't know there was something like that over here, you just hear Phil Heath all the time getting his 2-ton delivery of meat weekly.

How's your training going Tom, put a bit more meat back on now your jaw is better?

Not really bb related but I will share it anyway.

Today I applied for a 7km charity run on the 1st of december, it will be on a Sunday so its a cardio day for me anyway, win win situation :)

so i went and restarted my membership today!!

im determined to stick it out this time, i let work control my life a little bit too much so never paid attention to training, went to the butchers got my supple of meats

i could do with all the motivation you guys can throw my way!

I started training from the first moment I saw this guy, My dream is to look like him (I know its his full time job and all but I still do my best). Also look at Gregg Plitt, he's a great motivational talker(?) speecher(?) lol I don't know what to call him but you'll understand haha

Benched 85kg 4x4 today. Not bad... I'm on track for that 105-110kg bench come December first.

From 85kg you'll manage to take it to 105 in 3 weeks? I'm guessing 85 is easy for you though, I can do 8 reps with 80kg but I can't even move a 100 without assistance.

Yesterday was one hell of a back day for me, did bent over rows with 70kg and all other sets slowly and very controlled, woke up feeling as wide as a truck this morning :)

Relatively, the most I've benched is 110kg with a sling shot for 4 and I failed at 120kg. It's all about conditioning at this point, I'm confident I can get 100kg at the very least but I'll fall short of my 250kg deadlift goal. No worry though I'll work my way close to a 300kg lift by this time next year :)

Hey lads. Light deadlift session today and I got my friend Megan to film my last three sets. 140kg x4 off of a 6cm deficit, 160kg x4 off of a 6cm deficit and lastly 160kg x5 off of a 7.5 cm deficit. All in all pretty easy and over exaggerated movements. Working on maximal power though the lift. Next week I'll be adding 10kg to my PD on dead lift and doing it for reps. 3x2 or 3x3 next Sunday. I'm very much pumped.

Benefits for deficit dead lifts is to build up hamstring strength and speed. I warm up doing straight leg deadlifts up to about 100-120kg and then moved onto regular for a set of 140 before bring the blocks in. I've done 160's off of a block before but next this quickly and easily. It really was just flying up.
