Black and Orange Z77 Switch 810

Looking awesome, i really like how well thought out the colour scheme is! Are you planning on painting the psu?

yes, i have decided to do something with the psu......not too sure what yet tho.....

and i have started the pump placement.....so far this is the spot i like.....

thanks.. ill try that...

soooooooooooooooo sick today!!! stupid flu, hit me like a sledgehammer last nigt

really want to work on it bt cant

blahhhhhhh

Looking really nice. I wonder if I could do that kind of individual cable sleeving at home, if I get the right materials.

looking good and different, very surprised that taking the fan casing off improves flow.. be interesting to know what that does to the pressure.

As for magnets on the backplates. I'd avoid that personally, I imagine you've done that with rare earth (neodymium) magnets? I'm no real expert but 'rare earth' (neodymium) magnets INSIDE a computer sounds like bad news to be buddy!

yeah....that idea got scrapped and i did it the RIGHT WAY......ill post some pics later today on all my progress....

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!

ive been looking for my other fc link all damn day....

i cant find it......and it seems they dont sell them either......

ideas???

In my opinion the black and orange are always two great colours, that match very well together. Loved the rig, and the project.

mounting the pump was a rather simple matter. the sepratly sold heatsink for the pump came with those corner legs, but instead of screwing them to case, thus transfering the vibrations directly to the chasis. i cut 2 aluminum feet and attacthed them top and bottom.... from the grocery store i got a silicon rubber

just a lil super glue was enough to secure the rubber to the feet.

in order to cover up a couple of ugly-arse stickers i mounted another aluminum heatsink to nozzle side of the pump (right under the nozzles)

securing the pump was just a matter of "zip tying" over the rubbered feet, fastening it down tightly to the chasis...even further insuring quiet operation, it ended up being mounted right on top of the rubber grommits!!!

so.....as it turns out, besides messing with an HDD... what the magnets would screw with is the INDUCTORS in the gfx card....maybe even enough to modify voltages.

but that was just the lazy way to begin with....what i ended up doing was drilling out the backplate mounts to allow for an M3 fastener to bolt all the way through to the water block......

i also removed the elec. proofing directly over each of the vram chips on the back of the card, cut some 1.5mm thick thermal tape, and applied it to the chips. this allows for direct cooling of the backside vrams. (frontside ones cooled by wb)

after that it was a simple matter of assembly

notice the size dif. in the mounts

gang way! make a hole!......mat. removed for heat conductivity

thermal pads....you can just make out 2 of the pads sanwitched from the st. on view

THERE....I think thats MUCH better looking than the CSQ backplate EK tries to force you into...

Much obliged.....

Well, im kinda at a point where im waiting for packages from NewEgg, PerformancePCS, and FrozenCPU....(not all for this rig mind you) this is where things get a lil complicated...

building a rig for the Ol'Earth, (mom for all who dont speak RZA)

simple machine really---Bitfenix Prodigy black/ MSI Z77/ Gskil ram/ Asus gtx460 top(the blue one!!!)/ XFX 500wpsu/ spinpoint hdd w/ ssd cache/ modded lcs/ and the 2500k out of my lil'brothers rig....

which means i need to decide weather to put the 3570k that sits atop my desk into THIS rig, or do I take the 2700k out of my current rig for THIS rig....

either way it needs to come out.... my brothers machine will need the one i dont use....

errr...decisions decisions decisions
