[BL] Feronix goes ITX

That's a big fan too! How come the gpu box is so large though?

230mm fan :p

Well, I am using a mini ITX board, which is insanely tiny, but apparently Gainward thinks it's necessary to put GPUs in mobo boxes with lots of padding.

Double post cause I'm a rebel!
No but seriously, this is my own build log ^_^

Modded the SSD and got all the drives in. Currently in the process of painting the fan shrouds and Corsair pump/block bracket.

And with the mech HDDs

Fan pop out of their casing really easily:

In case you've never seen a Dutch newspaper :)

Plasti-dip and some cheaper matte black spray paint -the latter is actually easier to work with. Plasti-dip creates air bubbles in the paint?

First layer

Just did the second layer. Now to let them dry and then I can install the rest :) Stay tuned.

Ooo exciting, I only noticed air bubbles if you spray up close with lots of it. Your best litteraly just getting a few splats of paint over an area and moving on, coming back and repeating. Thats why it ends up taking 4/5 coats. :)

Ooh, that SSD looks really nice!

Thank you! Thought I needed something to represent that this was my personal build ;)

Thanks for the tip matey, I'll be sure to use that one :)

Fans are almost ready and they are going to look soooo good!

Edit; The pump/block bracket is going to be textured... apparently

While I was waiting for the paint to dry before I could continue the build (not having a CPU cooler really makes it pointless to install your CPU/motherboard/RAM) I installed the PSU.

PSU cover plate installed

All the cables that I'm going to need. Bro do u even fit?

The answer; Barely :s

The fan looks good :)

Barely fits too... Man, this is a tight build

Seriously though, why does Bitfenix not make these?

That's what she said, but it all went fine in the end can I see :D

Yeah it's definitely a challenge, especially with cable management. Not going to bother making it super tidy right now though, I'll need to swap out the 24 pin to a braided one some time anyway. Might have pester Grey_Beard for that :p

When all that's done I'll do some proper cable management and also get some custom white acrylic to do a PSU cover.

Excuse the yellow-light ish photos please, I kept working on the build until midnight. Labour paid off though, I am now posting this from the rig!

That motherboard is insanely tiny

Really liking the white bracket for the H60. It stands out massively from the rest of the CPU socket area but still blends in nicely with the rest of the build.

Especially when you toss in some sexy white RAM (thanks Etlar ;))

As you can see in the image above, I had to mount the H60 with the tubing to the side, cause apparently it doesn't fit with the tubing at the top or bottom (bottom would've made it really difficult to install the block anyway).

Got that GPU in.

Will mod that one later. Will make it black & white, possibly paint the PCI bracket black while I'm at it (why do manufacturers not do this?) and then I'll make my own custom backplate with some white acrylic.

And she boots!

Windows installed as well. Got to love SSDs

Very nice little build Feronix. :) You got round to any games on it yet?

Thank you! No, no games yet. Right now I'm just getting round to installing software, setting up drives etc. All the usual fun stuff :D
Apparently you can't add folders (and everything in them) to iTunes either in Windows (you can in OS X) so I had to go into [Bandname]>[Album name] for every single album which took longer than drivers and set-up tbh

Awesome! Although the 2 kilo packets have me concerned  DEA gonna be knockin'

Aaahh yeah. The highly illegal and addictive Caviar Blues ;)

Haha, he's in the Netherlands :D

Great work, makes me want to do a prodigy build.

It's just the grass that's legal here mate, and I'm pretty sure it's restricted to like 5 grams per person :p Not that I'd know...

Go for it mate, they're great little cases! A bit difficult to work in though, and yeah, short/custom cable kits are recommended. But once you get everything in and looking tidy, it's definitely incredibly satisfying :)

Cool, what are your temps like? Im a bit worried about how hot it gets in there (even if I had a blower-type cooler).

Subbed this should turn out great :)
I gave OS X a go on my current rig and was amazed it worked because of my spec. Was slow as hell though :P

Thats probably because you need kexts for your gpu, otherwise everything is supper choppy with no opengl support etc and limited resolutions

Some good smooth gameplay there, up to 92/3 in-game and in the 120's in a cutscene in Mafia 2. :)

You going to get GTA V? So awesome, funny as well, best game out. :)

That would be a fun game to play together if its any good on PC :D

You know what, I've never once tried the multiplayer. Seems like YouTubers have a laugh when they play it though. I'm gonna buy it on PC. I won't continue it on PS3 now, I'll save myself for the re-release. :)
