Bitfenix Red Fire Breathing Dragon Prodigy Build

I was debating whether to hold off posting this build until I got a video card, but I decided against it. The integrated graphics runs Hearthstone exceptionally well and I've decided to wait until Maxwell (790 or 880). I currently have a pair of 5970's that I hope I can sell for a good price. Rumour has it that they are ideal cards for Bitcoin mining. But whether they sell or not, it will not deter me from buying one of these cards.

My last rig (X58) is 4 years old and is starting to show signs of slowing down, so I figured why not now?. After watching Tom's review of the H440 I instantly fell in love with the case. I also began dreaming up my next build and started putting it together in my imagination. I've always been nervous setting up a custom liquid cooling loop; however, the fear of damaging anything is what prevents me from even attempting it. My next build will be different as it seems I've finally overcome this fear. I've discovered that if you are not in a rush and take your time, any build can come out damn near perfect.

The only thing I thought was worth mentioning is that a 760AX will fit into the prodigy. But it's extremely tight fit and you will have to force it in there. All 4 of my SP120 QE's had noticeable clicking sounds, so I had to RMA2 to Corsair and return 2 to a local store. I don't know if I'm going insane but all SP120 QE's seem to have an extremely faint click/hum.

All things aside I really enjoyed putting this together, and i'm looking forward to the next one.

Cheers!

very tidy rig, although imo the red LED fans kinda drown every colour
would've gotten a white LED strip instead

That is sweeetttt :) but I have to agree with Cru, too much red and it drown everything in the case, white leds will bring out much more the contrast inside the case.

I love it! I agree with everyone so far about the red LEDs, but when you're playing at night and you glance over at the case window... Mmmmmmm

Any recommendations on brands for LED strips?, or should I replace the 140mm & 230mm fans with white LED's instead?. I am really hoping that Corsair will release a combination SP & LED fan in the future. I would get 4 white and have it really bring out the colours in the case.

Thanks for the kind words and constructive criticism everyone!.

This is why we build!

Looks great, I would personaly have gone for just a push config so it made it feel more 'spacious' inside. Sorry don't know a better word to say it, it looks a bit crowded now, but defintly very tidy cabel managment there!! :worship:

NIce...

Just like mine,

I run a 3770k, and NF-F12's on my H100i, just push Config,P8Z77I-Delux, 16Gb hyper X Beast and the exact same SSD :)

Made a Custom from panel with Black Plexi glass with DimasTech push buttons for reset and power.

Sprayed it Matt black and silver and run with no side panels :)

As i run it open i have no front or rear fan, them Bitfenix fans on any speed make loads more noise than the 140mm Noctua FLX fans :) try one of them
