bit of an odd one

Hi Chaps

Got a bid of an odd problem..

I have a PC that has a USB MS optical mouse. When I shut the PC down the PC turn off but the mouse is still on or the light is. This has only started to happen when I put XP on..

Anyone see or heard of this before????

my creative labs optical mouse has always done that. The blue LED on it doesn't go off until you turn off the PC from the main wall socket. Is this what you mean?

Sure is... If the power is turned off from the mains and then back on again then it stays off... If this a fault???

you can disable the light on the mouse by a jumper on the motherboard somewhere, i think its called "mouse pwr" or something.

S'called 5v standby power... and continues to send power to the mouse for WakeonUSB purposes. Some mobos have a jumper to disable it. Some don't. S'perfectly normal.
