hey guys, iam soon to buy a 4000+ San Diego, 2GB corsair ram, and either a x850xtpe or a 7800GTX.

the only thing iam stuck with, is what mobo to get.

Now iam not going to be overclocking much. i want the 4000+ i think for the higher multi. All i know is i want a really nice, stable board, with some overclocking features. I don't want a DFI board they have to many problems with them, and don't tell me otherwise please. I also don't want SLI, just for one card i want.

I was looking at Asus A8N-E Nforce4 Ultra PCI-E, but it seems unusally cheap.

Ive been told the heatpipe asus board is cool, but it's sli and i don't need it or the heatpipes.

is this asus board what i should be going for/ or should i look at the epox or abit or MSI???

A lot of people like the Asus but only 1.5 vcore is a little low ummm have you looked at the abit mobo ???

The Abit Fatality board is supposedly very good indeed. I havent tried it personally but it offers the best performance/options/cooling available. Gigahertz magazine reviewed a load of 939 boards this issue, the Abit was top; as a comparison the DFI was last!

I would personally buy the ABIT. I'm tempted to buy me one as I'm fed up with DFI...

YGPM also ;)

Yeah 1.5 seems lows, but iam used to DFI.

Ill won't be going for a massive overclock on the SD, and it should do it at stock voltage or just over shouldn't it? im not gonna pour volts into my hardware like before.

It seems nice and cheap, and stable, so it's what iam leening towards.

Phil the Abit, seems a bit to much for me like, i don't want the mad fans and stuff.

ive not really heard much about the Epox boards, but i had a nforce 2 and it was ace.

Well my friend what you probably need is the Asus A8N-Deluxe in that case, and I will be selling my one in a couple of days (I'm getting the Asus A8N Premium instead) so if you want a good deal on it mate let me know.

It does 1.55v by the way which is more than enough for air/water on a San Diego.

if the asus (premium or deluxe) had more than 1.55 vcore it would be the perfect board.. I'm pretty sure thats whats holding me back on this 57 now..

But for non benching use its sweet

Thanks man yeah, sounds perfect for me then, 1.55 will be plenty.

Do they work out of he box with X2's iam thinking of a 4400, 2GB corsair, and a 7800, for a kickass rig, lol.

So the one without SLI is just the same as the others, apart from the sli obviously?

The deluxe is fully featured but if you dont want RAID then non deluxe if fine too.

I have heard that you can up the volts using clockgen though ;)

I like the fatality though so those two are good.

DFI's are the best but like many people here I have found them to be unreliable and they are useless handling RMA's

Yeah, cheers mare, 99% cert on the Asus, i don't need RAID or SLI so no point in it.

The Abit board looks cool, better bios options, but i don't like the OTES thing, and evne the one without it, has a wierd ass big thing by the back plate.
