BF4 Graphics card upgrade!

Yes new patch has helped smooth things out quite a bit :) impressive for 50MB. Just proves they can do it..

I tried running the game via Ramdrive tonight.. made literally no difference to load times at all...

Those load times are doing my head in.

I am still going to wait till I have tried it on my dad's pc before I decide to buy it or not though, once it's released.

I'll be completely honest and say, that I wasn't going to pre-order, and was sticking to my guns until I've seen this beta.

In truth, it is more of the same but they've fixed a lot of the stuff that annoyed me about BF3. Things like vehicles having to be careful with their ammunition instead of being relentless gun platforms like they are in BF3. They've addressed this really well with the way Vehicle ammunition works so far. However I don't know if this will get tweaked once Commander mode goes live, because apparently they can drop supply stuff for vehicles, I had originally heard that you MUST resupply using these 'crates' but perhaps they just speed it up.. either way it give the commander a reason to support a forward movement of vehicles/infantry.

The fact that commander is back is a HUGE win, along with in-squad and cross-squad-leader VOIP being implemented it's going to bring a lot of stuff BACK that was missing and that makes me very happy.

I think so far it's winning me over, especially when you get a bunch of squadies on and can really enjoy it...

I reckon I'll pre-order after the Beta tbh

GPU usage is still only peaking at around 65/66%, and core clock is higher but still a little erratic like it can't decide if it's running a full screen application or not. Memory clock is much more stable than pre-patch though, less frequent drops.
Overall though, the update is a huge improvement for me, running around 50fps and far less frequent fps drops which I'm impressed with for only 66% GPU load
it is however using pretty much all the VRAM, need a new card :(

I wonder if it's just not sending the proper 'in 3d mode' signal to the card?

It's a possibility I suppose, but wouldn't that be a coding problem that everyone experienced rather than isolated cases?

I know BF3 (and other less demanding games including WoW) has my core clock running flat out the whole time according to the Afterburner overlay, but unfortunately I can't use Afterburner on the BF4 Beta for a proper comparison so I'm forced to use log files from GPU-Z.

The update has at least given me hope that the final release will run much better, drivers will no doubt be better for that as well rather then the rushed beta ones.

I'm confused with the BF threads, I posted my FPS score on one somewhere but I can't remember where. O.o

Here is a video for you to enjoy, BF4 Beta at 4K. "Here's an interesting video, showcasing what Battlefield 4 looks like at 4K. Captured by Thirty IR, this video shows Battlefield running at a really high resolution (running at 4800*2560 and being downscaled to 4096*2160) with all its bells and whistles enabled on four Nvidia Titan cards. According to Thirty IR, all settings were maxed out - including Anti-Aliasing (4x MSAA) - and VRAM usage was around 5.1GB"

Yeah I saw that video, 4k is great and all but it looks quite stuttery to me. No advantage to that yet. also The noob hasn't set his hud scaling properly and it looks retardo. lol

not surprised by the VRam usage AT ALL

its just more pixels mate. If you don't have a 4k screen it just looks like really crisp Anti Aliasing (effectively the same thing as running 4k on 1080p screen)
