So ive decided that I probably need a graphics upgrade..
Im still rocking a 9400gt 1GB DDR2 and I think it might be slightly outdated :p
my HD 6570 went faulty so I sent it back and now I have enough money for a new gfx card. I was looking at a 7790 for BF4? other suggestions are welcome for >£100

Specs
-C2D e7200 @2.53GHz
-Intel DG43RK Motherboard
-4GB 1333 DDR3 ram
-9400gt 1GB DDR2
-CX430M

thanks

My suggestion would be save a bit longer and get something else. Some may disagree but I just don't think it's worth buying a sub £100 card if you're planning to game nicely on games such as BF4.

I would wait for AMD to launch their new series and get something from the mid/high range there.

Your other option is to buy a nice card from an older generation. Maybe a GTX670 or something like that??

I play at 720p and I have a set budget any other money is for cpu and motherboard upgrades please help me out

"Slightly outdated" is an understatement mate, time to get the plastic out and buy a new card!

I have a GTX680 and BF4 Beta runs milky smooth on "Ultra" with deferred shading off. With that in mind you could pick up an HD7950/7970 or GTX670/680 for fairly cheap and you'll be ready to rock'n'roll!
Even a GTX570/580 will do what you need...
Although with that CPU I don't think you'll be getting too far mate, BF4 was pumping my overclocked i7 3770k and the recommended specs are a quad core or higher. Do you self a favor and invest in a cheapy little system upgrade, they can be had for about £500-700 and then you're all set for whatever gets released!

As much as Id like to do a system upgrade I just dont have the budget :( Im gonna be looking another 4GB ram a phenom ii x4 or fx 4300/6300 at christmas with a new mobo hopefully things will run more smoothly but thanks mate for the response! :)

If you go with that new motherboard paired with a fx 6300 and 4GB more, you should be sitting quite happily.....

BF4 Recommended videocard is the HD7870/GTX660, so I'd try and aim for a HD7850. Most 7850's are really good overclockers so all good.

You might get away with it imo but since i'm not an expert in this domain, wait for somebody else to confirm this. Wattage wise i think its possible but how many pci-e connectors does your psu have ?

Im gonna get the 7790, 7850 is just too over budget :/ and my psu wont cope

Just ordered and I get a free game :) pretty happy atm

As for settings, everything on highest :P But the general experience so far is, you still need 3GB vram :)

Well i have a 9600GT and a bit afraid of downloading bf4 beta. :) I play BF3 with it, but i think BF4 will just chew and spit out my card. I thought the new amd cards will bring us something new in the lower segment too, a card with the power of the 7850/70 on the price of the 7790 and power comsuption of the 7790, but i have to wait more for this.

I'd be careful picking the card, I retired my last PC when BF3 was released, I had a 512MB 4870 overclocked and the RAM just wasn't enough. My brother in law had a 4850 with 1GB VRAM and it ran it fine (on low/medium), my card couldn't even run it on low!!

Just make sure you pick a half decent card.
