Going to dump my Gigabyte Gaming 7 and am after a z370 that is solid but the Manufacturer has to supply good software with it and doesnt clash with its own other products and BIOS. ie. Gigabyte Aorus 1080ti

Now not sure is Strix is back in the game and have fixed the pasting that wee Tommy gave them or maybe even the ROG hero.

Don't know about the MSI range of motherboards but have heard that people use MSI Afterburner for there non MSI GPU so that looks good.

As for Asrock ....dont know much about them

and finally another question : when flogging a Mobo you think is a dud do you tell the truth and lampoon Gigabyte or lie ? Latest fault is my Samsung 950 M.2 pro cant be seen by the BIOS when in either top or middle slots and am unable to install Windows onto the faster drive .

Utilities, well the app's that the manufacturer supplies like RGB fusion to name one

Like how stable is Asus Aura ? What are the apps for MSI like ?

btw: after your attack on the Strix voltage probs do you know if they have been fixed by BIOS upgrades ?

The apps change from update to update

bios to bios

windows update to windows update

Its always a game of cat and mouse. I could answer now and it would be different in a few days.

I dislike having to use manufacturers' own software to the point that I set up my LEDs the way I like and just nuke the software after that. Everything else important can be done via UEFI or other software anyway.

well problems with BIOS and M.2 and the total bull replies from Gigabyte support have me purchasing an Asus Rog Apex

edit: finally after the most annoying 2 weeks with Gigabyte support they found the Samsung M.2 950 pro had problems and change Storage Boot Option Control to legacy so have to eat humble pie because they actually were not fobbing me off and found the solution

The MSI software seems to be ok for me, except the Mystic light crap, buggy as hell and screwed up the light bars on Trident RGB ram.

But at least you fixed the problem anyway!

I just built an ASUS Maximus X Hero from the ground up with zero issues.
I however, did not add any of the software that came with the MOBO.

The UIFI software is very nice, & has caused no issues so far.

Running a Asus Z270i here, Dont use any of the drivers from the Asus site as they are all out of date, grab irst/wifi/bluetooth/ethernet from intel site. For overclocking in window you can use intel xtu also from intel site but bios is 150% better for configuring your clocks and fan speed. Take the latest AURA software from here : https://rog.asus.com/downloads/ . Update your bios from directly within the bios using a ethernet cable.

The best board software these days is MSI command centre. Reason being they have been writing it for years having taken over making Alienware's cases as well as their Mobos. So they were writing that stuff long before it became popular. However, most of the issues I read about are down to RGB which is a relatively new thing and controlling it etc. Even the Alienwares used to be buggy for that (back in 2005 when they first got it) and so some dude wrote an app himself that was very basic but god the job done.

But yeah, UEFI software hands down MSI command centre. It's as good as Afterburner which is all you should ever need for tuning. RGB is still a crap shoot no matter who you go with.
