Before you post please no blah blah blah gaming headset suxxx!!1oneleven wireless suxx!!11oneleven blah blah blah please stay on topic for the love of god

Anyway boxing day is coming up and I feel like spoiling myself with a new Wireless headset. ATM I'm looking at the Logitech G930 and Corsair Vengeance 2000..

Right now It's looking like I'll get the G930 it's black and red to match my rig but the thing about it is it looks sooo cheap in pics I've seen online while on the other hand the Corsair Vengeance 2000 look sooo nice and comfortable just it sucks that the ear muffs are in blue I hate blue

Any advice? Also any other wireless headsets that are better then the ones mentioned that I should take a look at? I don't have any cash constraints so any recommendations will be taken into consideration ;) schwoopy loopy arms!

What about the Logitech G930?

Despite agreeing with your first statement, I can see the need for a wireless headset. Although I wouldn't go spending the earth on it, regardless of how much money your budget allows.

The wireless 7.1 surround Astro A50's would fit the bill, since your willing to splash the cash on a good gaming headset.

Total agree with Flux, however there not 'real' 7.1, there virtual which is some cases better that have loads of drivers in one ear cup. Be warned they are expensive.

Are you set on having a mic on the headset because i feel that if anyone was going to do a decent set of wireless headphones ive always been partial to sennheisers before the budget gets too large dont know if they are good but its worth a try??

Pretty much I use my HDTV for gaming and my tower is sitting way out on top of my desk I'm in need of good sound for the night time :p Next year I'll probably start looking for a proper 7.1 sound system as I'm moving in the spring and my current room is just to tiny for that kind of set up and not really private enough.

I use a G930, and its pretty damn good.
It has a good bass, and sound is clear, considering i use it for listening to music too.
I didnt like the idea of a wireless headset at first, but then I realized how comfortable they are, I will continue to use them.

i use(d) the Logitech g930 too, paid 150€ and only five month of careful use the right earspeaker is broken.

i have the corsair 2000. easy setup, lots of choice in eq presets, fairly comfy (nicer than my brothers tritton ax superexpensives) not mahoosive battery life. but i like them. i got mie with a defective usb plug that heated up so much it burnt a bit of my fingerprint off for a while. replaced for free. theres not many others id even consider

That's exactly why I didn't want to go logitech they look so cheap tbh Corsair's headset seem to be of similar sound quality but the build itself looks top notch there both selling for $99 here in Canada.. Decisions decisions.. Do the a50's actually sound that much better than Corsairs? Anyone know if that blue in the ear cup is removable so I can replace it with red? I really really hate blue

are you talking about the blue bit inside the cup or the blue highlight ring on the outer of the cup

That fabric material inside the cups. Is it easily removable? Or will it completely fudge up the sound quality / experience. Got the feely feels that it's stitched therefore would be a dumb idea to remove it.

edit

Obviously if I remove it I plan on replacing it.. With red

I hate blue and I'm a bit superstitious, FC Porto will definitely win the league, champions league.. everything If I walk around with blue..

I have the Corsair 2000 and love them,but.....the plastic on the inside of the frame has cracked first on one side then the other within months after purchase.I have zip ties holding them together. This is from just taking them on and off everyday.

Thanks guys, Just grabbed the a50's I'll let you guys know how it sounds in a day or 2 once I get a proper listen in different scenarios.

edit.

Think I had enough of a listen to say they sound really really nice, The virtual 7.1 is clear as day it feels as if a worm of sound is ringing around inside your ear as you scroll your mouse around 360 degrees. They sound better then the monster beats headset I got for my silly trendy sister and of equal quality to my Dad's high end head phone.

At this point I'm just wondering if a sound card will improve the quality of the sound or does mix amp do this already? Too many n00bz out there pretending to know shyt they don't know so unsure of the answer at this point I'm using the on board sound card on my Maximus IVEZ connected with optical cable. The only downer about this head set is alllll the wiring for the mixamp are soooooooooo short massive piss off considering the price tag.
