Best motherboard (either Intel or AMD based) for ~£180 capable of SLI/Crossfire?

Thinking of upgrading and would like to hear you guys' thoughts.

Would recommend you to go Intel as the 3570k is on par with AMDs flagship cpu, but with Intel you can still upgrade to an i7 if you want. They just offer much more performance and use less power

The Gigabyte 990FXA UD7 would be the best for AMD.
MSI Mpower Z77 or the Gigabyte Z77 UP7 for Intel. the MSI board is cheaper by quite a margin tho.

For your budget the Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H would be the best option for Z77, for 990FX the Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z would be great too.

But wasn't PIC-E 3.0 controlled by a controller in the CPU? Do AMD CPUs have those controlers?

Not yet, the board was released in preparation for any future AM3+ CPUs which will have the controller.

errrrr,nope.It is an onboard chip.

the board provides you a couple of gen 3.0 slots by using PLX-made 48-lane PCI-Express Gen 3.0 bridge chip

regarding that,what would be the best platform for an ivy 3570,for crossfire.I'm planing on a motherboard upgrade.Sorry for the hijack.
