Best headphones under 600 dollars

$600 for headphones is a waste unless you have a VERY top quality amp. Unless you have a $1000+ amp you will be wasting your time with $600 pair of headphones.

Trust me, I have heard far better audio quality, but for $300 for the Beatbox, it far surpasses the Bose or Bowers & Wilkins. As for the headphones, I think the beats are terribly uncomfortable and distort higher frequency. The bass is what sells those. Not quality.

Yea, ok. For 300 bucks you can get Grado SR225i's, Sennhieser HD 595, Denon D2000, Beyerdynamic DT series, Audio Techinca ATH900, need I continue? Bose are also iffy, yes they sound ok, but are as overpriced as Beats, 50 dollar cans that you pay for the name and pay way over the odds for. Bass alone does not make a good stereo headphone.

You need not continue because you didn't understand what I said. Beatbox, an iPod dock, was $300... and sounds great! I do not support Beats for headphones, I guess I didn't make that clear. My Bose headphones, however, are amazing.

Also, the Audio Technicas are great sounding but I hate their designs. They aren't very comfortable to me.

Personally I swear by my set of Beyerdynamic DT990 Pros 250 Ohm. Out of the dozens of headphones I tested these suited my ears the most. A downside of the 990s can be that they are open. This means that anyone in the room will also enjoy your music, or whatever you are listening to, and that you can still hear some stuff from outside (if the volume is high enough ofcourse), like the doorbell.

The pro of this is that you will be able to wear them for longer amounts of time, as they won't warm up as fast as closed ones.

you can get a set of closed ones (DT770s) but the bass is slightly different and the sound is less transparant.

Oh yeah I do too, I love to track with them in the studio, where an open headphone is ofcourse a bad idea (you don't want the sounds of the music/clicktrack in the mics).

i would strongly recommend the Sennheiser HD 598's

they are around the $400 mark and they sound amazing even when hooked up to like an ipod but when they are connected to a sound card or amp of some sort they really shine

Definitely better than anything you can get from Bose or Beats. Those two brands are just overpriced. Bose and Beats don't put up any specifications for their headphones, but there have been tests done showing that their frequency response is very limited. If you go on Sennheiser's website you can clearly see all the specs for each headphone which is what you need to look for, not what branding it has on the side. Hope this helps

Forget beats, they are for the generation that believe in form / sponsorship over function. If you have a decent amp then it's simple....buy the best pair of Sennheiser's that you can afford. I Have had a pair for about 11 years that cost me around £450 and they sound superb. They won't be as bassy as some other makes so if bass your priorty then look elsewhere.

Personally I think bose is far to overpriced. They are the BEST when it comes to sound cancelling but offer to little for the price. Cyanide89 your a great person but (http://www.bose.ca/c...ort_3/index.jsp) these are a total waste of money. $399.99 ARE YOU KIDDING!! I agree they do sound nice, but sure as hell not $399 nice. I have used studio headphones that sound much better for the same price. Bose is a big name and you pay out the nose to use it. Beats is the same way, you pay because you have Dre behind them.

Don't mean to be rude, but DAM!

The companies I recommend are Klipsh, Sennheiser, Sony and JBL. They offer the best bang for the buck. I use mainly a $150 pair of Klipsch and I can easily stack them up against my $300 pair of Beats headphones in any music setting.

I don't actually have those ones. I couldn't find them on the website anymore... I have these:

And they were given to me from a friend of mine. I wouldn't pay that kind of money.

You don't have to spend 600 dollars to get a good pair of headphones. I have a DT 880 pro-250 my self which I enjoy alot And they sell for $250 on amazon. Also I seen DT770 pro-80s for around $150 as well Ultrasone HFI-580s around the same price on amazons. But you have prenty of choices like I said.

The most impotant thing is, what sound signature are your looking for , or what music do you listen to. Also the best thing you can really do. Is go to a audio store that will let you try out headphones. Then make your mind up that way.

Also certain headphones will req a headphone amp to drive them correctly and might not sound right until then, But if you have a sound card with a in-graded headphone. Then you should be fine as long the headphones isnt picky about the amp circuit that is used on the sound card. As well as long the sound card amp output enough power for the said headphone.

I Advice you With Creative Sound Blaster Recon 3D and Omega Wireless Headset Bundle Really Love it

If you don't really mind about how they look as much, have a look at Beyerdynamic, I rely on them for my studio work, I have a set of DT100 for recording, and DT250 for when I am being a recording engineer. They are the lower end models, but still sound great!
