Hi, whats the best cooler for the i7 4770k, not bothered if air or AIO, motherboard = MSI Z87-G65 Gaming and ram = TeamGroup Xtreem LV 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-17000C11 2133MHz, tower = Antec 302
Cheers, Andy
well the best easy options are noctua nh-d14 or some dual 120/140 aio cooler. but when looking at pure cooling performance a custom loop beats them
you might have trouble fitting some watercooling thing in your case though
thanks for reply, my concern is fan/ram clearence as the extreme fan sinks are pretty big, what about the Pahnteks ph-tc14pe, whats the board like you have as thats what i'm thinking of getting
hmmm move the fan from the front to the back so there both pulling air out the back of the case or turn the cooler 90° so the fans are pushing air out the top? what sort of overclocks are you going for?
yeah, ram already bought, can the fan be lifted higher for more clearence, what about the Pahnteks ph-tc14pe, sorry bud can't check that link out, not elegible yet. a 240 radiator fits in where drives go, just need to cut some metal for pipes
overclocking, possibility. been reading anything below h100 is no good as high temps occur, i already have a coolit eco alc 120 but brackets don't fit 1150 socket, that worked a treat on i7 2600k @4.4
thanks for the info feronix, ive been searching net for that info and not found anything, will try the cooler i already have, if that dont cut it i'll look for something else, overclocking, not going there yet, if i do, which way i aint a clue
Imo if you're not going to be overclocking or just a mild one, CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo. D14 will do too but personally i think its too massive/bulky.
More extreme OC but you dont want to go for a fully pledged watercooled rig then NH-D14 or H100i/H110
my main concern is ram sink clearances on the big air coolers, don't like the sound of turning 90 degrees and 1st fan struggles to get good amount of air as its directly above video card, but saying that i do have a side fan
