Battlefield 4 Experience

Thing is, I'd prefer some of the old BF2 maps, just not in BF3's scale version of them. (I.E. Gulf of Oman is COMPLETELY wrong)
IF modding tools (proper ones, not EA 'official' ones) were released I imagine that'd be the only way we'd get the proper recreation of BF2 maps. Otherwise it'd be shameless cashgrabs.
Which is a shame as BF2 is still the best in the series by far.

unfortunately it won't happen due to the licensing involved, they don't own all of the Frostbite engine so they can't license it on.

Load of horse poop if you ask me!

Gone were the days of Battlefield 2 it seems :(.
Its party why i got so into Arma.

Can I ask a quick one, does BF4 have controller support? I've never noticed (actual on foot usage though, not just vehicles).

Aye Arma is great, but A3 needs a bit more time in the wild before I go back to it. just not enough content yet
Its getting there though :D. They've got fixed wing for Blufor (a modified a10) and Opfor (some funky new su25 type ),now the towns are much larger and then there is some really cool areas, such as ghost hotel.
Also, much more variation in guns and tanks.

Bf4's actually quickly become my most played game recently... It runs great under mantle and once you figure out a way to minimize crashes (For me this was done by minimizing everything bar the game... confusing, I know), it's actually a good game with decent balancing and hardly any thatwasbulls**tf**kthisgameimdone moments, which is rare in the FPS genre...

I really want to get into BF4 as it runs amazingly well on my set up. Its just got so many issues I think I'll stick with the poorly performing arma3 for now :l.

Good old Arma

what params you using to launch it? If bf4 is fine you should have some room to breathe with Arma?

Yep, the netcode is still garbage, so may bugs and issues with the game.

Everytime I play BF4 I just get mad and frustrated because I spend most of the time screaming "WTF DICE" at my TV :\ And the new kill cam bug since the last patch is annoying the f*** out of me.

This is why I don't use my pc at home much now :( just too damn frustrating

Its very much a cpu issue with arma. My gpu is barely touching 70%. constant 27 fps and below when ai/in a populated area. It only appears to use 4 of my 8 cpu cores which is awful for a cpu intensive game. Battlefield actually uses the cores correctly I must add, it even goes past win 7's "assign random tasks to random cores". I can keep up with the i5s and i7 quad cores (based on fps with an i5 4670 with a 680 and a 3770k with a 7970)or best them in BF3 with similar gpu set ups so I'd imagine BF4 is the same.
Oh and I have to say that in terms of multiplayer optimization on both server and client sides they still have a fair bit to do in arma.

You should be able to force it to run 8 threads dude.

Last I heard on server-side, the server only uses a single core, no matter what, so it's terrible at the minute

I'm going to play around with the stable build when I get home . Last time I did the good ol' arma cpu trick (its the same with arma 2) it really didn't like it. Hopefully it'll work this time around.

Oh yeah, the server issues in arma3 are ridiculous. They've been making headway though as server performance seems to improve with each iteration of the dev build.
