Battlefield 3, Loading 1 map on to ramdisk ?

I was watching an Asus video on the tube recently and the main presenter, JJ, Said its possible to load a single map on to a ram disk as the main game now is just too large.

I bought the software from Gilisoft and am using it with other games and the load times are sexy as hell but I'm not sure how to do this with Battlefield 3, Anyone here done this ?

Any info would be appreciated :)

its not as easy as you would think no.

The easiest way I can think of is it setup a symbolic link to the file, first thing is figure out where the map file is stored. Clone it and rename it (cuz we don't want to lose it). put the file on your ramdisk and then symbolic link to it.

I did this with my bf3 install from a hard drive to an SSD when i first installed it. My entire bf3 directory was sat on an SSD and i had it symbolic linked on the hard drive because.. well.. origin.

Worth a try?

I believe this is the article I used: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/16226/complete-guide-to-symbolic-links-symlinks-on-windows-or-linux/

Create symbolic links as suggested above, you can use a program named "symlinker" if you dont want to mess with the command line.
