Battery Not Charging

Hi all,

Need some help from those of you with knowledge on batteries. I actually noticed this a while ago but never got round to doing anything about it.

My Samsung Galaxy S3 was in perfect working order until I got my Xperia Z, in which I powered the S3 off, and put it back in it's box, came back to it say a month later and the battery will not charge. I actually left it for hours...hadn't gone up at all. Unplugged it, plugged it back in and it charged...very slowly but if I remember right it did come to a halt again!

Why is this? I had only had the phone about seven months prior to this. I need to get it sorted though because I will probably sell this, as I still need to pay off the contract.

What do I do?

Do you have an external battery charger?, tried a different battery?, Switch off then charge?

Seems quite a few people are having similar issues on the Android forums

Hey cheers but not got an external charger and don't have a spare. I did try a switch off and then tried again but didn't work.

Is it a software issue?
There seems to be some sort of delay with the S3 in 'activating' when the charger is connected or disconnected. Like the sound/screen lighting up/charge indication light.

Personally I'm a HTC fan but you should check the S3 forum here.

Cheers, I'm just having a look now. If I use the charger for my Xperia to see if it's the S3 charger cable it won't damage the S3 or the charger will it?

(Really not familiar with batteries, amps, volts, wattages and all that).

Now that you mention that, I remember that my dad's new Xperia phone would charge with the cable from his old Galaxy S. Can't hurt to try the other cable.

The chargers are all compatable they are all mini usb as there was a push to try and standardise everything I had the S3 and have gone over to the Xperia Z and the chargers are the same you shouldn't have an issue
