bad day..

Well today is a pretty bad day for me, a week ago today i ordered a bunch of parts from ncix.com. I ordered a Antec Super Lanboy, Antec 120mm Blue LED fan, and a BFG Geforce 7800GSOC. I ordered the BFG Geforce 7800GSOC because my video card was pooched and it turnes out that it is back orderd because its out of stock. :cussing: But when i ordered it was in stock. everything EXCEPT the videocard gets shipped. So later i calmed down about it and was just checking out the site and my computer Randomly shuts off. I find out my CPU is running really hot 45 celcius pushing 50 and my hsf is making really loud noises.

I have a AMD Athlon 64 3000+ with a stock AMD hsf.. any ideas for this problem?
 
Hmm, weird. If you're looking to get a new heatsink cheap, search eBay for a stock AMD heatpipe cooler. They rape! My Dad bought one 2 days ago to try vs his Zalman CNPS9500-AM2, and it is just as good if not a little better. Cheap, good, and pretty quiet. Keeps his X2 3800+ Toledo @ 2.5Ghz under 50*C :).
 
Doesnt sound like your processor is getting hot enough to shut down your PC, sounds like the problem lies somewhere else. With that said I would still probably get a new HSF for it :)

What kind of PSU u rockin mate?

lol i hate psus lol. so like im pretty n00b with psus lol because i hate them.. so i need some input

Price Range: 80$ Cad - 150$ Cad
 
Yeah that one is "ok." Afireinside has one and he isn't too impressed with it. No doubt it's a great unit but quality wise, it might be meh. Another choice if you are going for a modular power supply would be the Enermax Liberty 400w. Great unit.
 
I just got mine (hp-550) from XS competition. Its a junker, cant handle my basic system with a small OC. 12v rail @ 11.6v :(

Wow, it's hard for me to believe that Mushkin would put out a product that bad. Ok then nevermind, do NOT get the PSU I mentioned, get the one Nick mentioned :)

This sucks im broke and my parents wont buy me nething anymore because i dont have a job.. and i dont have an excuse for them to buy me a new psu :(
 
shame u dont live closer....I have a PSU here which is crap admittedly but it ran my rig ok....you could of had it!! Votes for seasonic here...tho they cost big pennies....

Thanks dude it's ashame i dont live closer... neways I have decided to go with what u recommended Nick i just have to bribe, and beg my parents to lend me money to get it lol.
