AZUL (modded Bitfenix Aegis)

You should have been more brave and gone with naked ivy mount. Even more temp drop :)

CPU block direct to die, no IHS hehe

Hehe yea I thought about it but mounting to the bare die is not as easy as it sounds. I would have had to take off the mounting assembly on the motherboard since the bare die will sit lower than it and not make contact with the waterblock. There are also further risks of crushing the die like this with too much force. For this build I didn't see the need to go through the trouble.

Does anyone here know of any custom mountings that can allow you to more easily run a bare die CPU?

Thanks a lot for checking it out!

Cheers,

I like this build, especially how you used two res. I have been trying to figure out how to use a bay res with a tube res in my next build inside a switch 810.

I like.

Most of the inside, general colour scheme and so on. I love the front panel res. The final fit and finish, because Bitfenix cases are junk.

I don't like.

The fact you have two reservoirs  I don't get it, are there two loops? why would you make that amazing front panel and then use another res too

I don't like the frosted front. Whilst it may have looked better without the enormous res panel I want to see the enormous res panel and you are clouding my view. Again, confusing. I also don't like how the front panel res is completely full. A water fall would have rewarded your efforts much more I feel.

Absolutely hate the shopping list sponsor area of the case. I concede that this is probably a necessary evil but why would a sponsor want you making their build look poo  I dunno man, don't get that part and never will.

I don't like the pattern on it. You seem to be doing this to every build lately and I'm not quite sure why.

Still don't like the fuzzy Bitfenix logo.

Nice to see it finished very cool

Thanks a lot :)

Very nice man!!!

Thank you :D

All fair points man :)

The other res was mainly used to fill space and also make it easier to fill up and when it comes to it also empty the loop. Everything else was just what I wanted to do. Sorry you're not liking the other aspects of it :)

I've just started a new build log and will have another one up tomorrow. We'll see how these go hehe :P

Bit late but yeah EK does provide naked ivy mounts as they call it. Thread is lower and allows you to attach a cpu block without excess force or crushing.it was also compatible with devils canyon series CPU.

Also doesnt the res inside the case affect airflow when everything is closed up? As much as I love the design and colour. I'm with AlienALX on this one. I love the front res. Absolutely genius idea, so good that I would have removed the internal one and opted for a nice open clean space :)

Yea I know there are options in order to run naked die. I'll be honest, I'm not really planning on using this build that much so having it as is will do. I really wanted to use my Z97 Gryphon motherboard and I didn't have a CPU so I found the 4770K at a good price which was already delidded so work out pretty well :)

As for the second reservoir, yea I hear you. I didn't have any particular reason, just something I wanted to do at the time. I have this thing where I like to fill up a build as much as I can while also keeping things nice and neat :D

Glad you like the front reservoir though. I really enjoyed doing it. It's not perfect but for a first attempt it's pretty good. I'll look at incorporating custom reservoirs in future builds as well :)

You don't have to listen to me, but I have some advice. Sure, my mods have not been earth shattering but I put this down to not having the tools to do what I would really like to do. However, I do spend all day looking at mods etc. One day I will get access to the machinery I need to do the mod I've had in my head for years.

Any way, my advice is learn where to stop. Don't do something "just because". Plan out your build before you start and make the choices then. It's far easier to say "I'm not doing that" before you start, and it then becomes tempting to add as many asses to your swine as you can (from South Park but you get the idea).

I've seen so many mods lately that I would have easily voted for MOTM on that site that does MOTM, only to find that they're half way done and then completely ruined.

There are a couple of guys on there who don't know when to stop. As such they are never nominated for MOTM and wonder why. I won't mention any names as hey, that's their life and their choice.

A perfect mod means a perfect balance, and it's the subtle mods that I respect more than anything. Even mods that can't be seen by the naked eye are mods worth doing.

Haha yea I know it's been quite hard to impress you :P

Let's see how I go with these new case mods that I've started. I've done a lot more planning before hand and I'm gonna take some of your advice on board.

I also don't have many tools, just the basic hand tools and everything I do is on my small 2 bedroom apartment balcony lol.

I'm looking into getting a CNC machine this year. That will allow me to expand a lot, work quicker and be able to do more things :)

Yeah I would absolutely love a lazer cutting machine. TBH that is the only way I am really going to be able to build this rig I've had in my head for about ten years now.

Maybe next year :D

Laser cutter would be awesome but no way I can afford a good one now. A CNC machine might be accessible for me at some point this year. A lot to learn about using one however :)

I'd really be interested to see you put this build together. Hopefully you get to do it one day :D
