aw9d max overclock help!

hi

i am using 4x256mb pc4300 geil memory (just for test because i'll buy patriot

memory very soon) and the mainboard is aw9d-max bios 13 with C2D e6400

one month ago i had ab9 pro and it was perfectly overclocked my cpu to 3.04

and raised fsb to 380 without problem (same memory and voltages cpu:1.35

DRAM: 1.90) but now i cant raise to this fsb with aw9d max.

i read the review of overclocking aw9d max for more info and also raise

the mch voltage and desable all functions of cpu (with ab9 pro i didnt) but

the pc freez in POST and the error code is 65 .

if i decrease the fsb to 370 the pc pass the POST level but when vista loading

the blue screen appears and i cant read it because its too fast and

immediately restart the pc. i am sure this mainboard can go to 380 fsb or

maybe higher than this because the ab9 pro(chip965) done it.

any idea can be hopeful

thanks

yeah i raise it to 2.00 but same result . why the error code is 65?

is it because mch voltage or another settings ?

if i buy my 2x1gb patriot pc6400 CL 5 and put them in dual mode is it make

any change in my overclock result? ( i mean can i go to 380 fsb without those

problem? )

thanks for reply

Have you set the divider on the RAM? Try setting it to the lowest possible and see how you get on.

How are the temps on the CPU? Just in case you HSF is mounted wrong or something

yeah i set it to 533 but nothing .

its near 45 or 43 (i am using sonic tower with 12x12 fan).

sorry whats "HSF" ?

HSF is abbreviation for heatsink fan.

were you running Vista on the 965?

What I've heard so far says that Vista doesn't run as well overclocked as XP.

thanks for info about HSF

yes i am running vista on it and if i dont overclock my pc its completly stable

with vista.

but now i dont know what options of mainboard set wrong or

ist my memory issue with mainboard?

I assume you're running a divider on your mem right? cos if you're running 1:1 then your ram might be reaching its limits, you ram is only rated at 533mhz(266fsb) and you're overclocking them to 760mhz(380fsb). try relaxing your ram timings or running the ram on a divider.

If all else fails and you're sure the ram can run this high (i know you've used the ram on another board, but i think the aw9d runs ram at tighter timings), then try again with only one stick of ram at a time. Try to isolate the problem, it might be just one stick of ram can't run at this speed.

finally solved. all of this problem is just because of timing setting

if i raise fsb up to 340 i have to set timing to lower than 4-4-4-12 like

5.5.5.15 or something higher than it . with 5.5.5.15 i can set fsb to 400

without any problem (DRAM v : 2.10 CPU v : 3.40) and passed prime95

calculation successfully . (however with ab9 pro i dont set the timing to lower

than default memory value).

with 4 sticks it has no problem and didnt make any different .

although its stable just in 5.5.5.15 timing and in higher than this timing it was

freezed the pc

thanks again for your timing help:wavey:

Nice to see you got it sorted.

Do you think you could post some results of the final overclock?

Maybe some pictures too! ;)
