Average overclocked IB VS average overclocked Haswell?

Hey, I am thinking about trading in my 1090t @4.1GHz and moving over to Intel for a while. I will be running a custom loop with a 3 x 120mm rad but can add more if needed. I'll definately be overclocking whichever CPU I get but my question is:

Given the average OC is lower in Haswell, say 4.4GHz, Will that still out perform an average OC Ivy Bridge CPU at say 4.8GHz?

Obviously I understand there is a chance of going either way with either a duff chip or a great one but I mean on average. Specifically I'm talking 3570k and 4750k.

If IPC is 10% better with the 4750k, does it scale in a way that 10% more clock speed from the 3570K would result in equal performance?

I know Haswell would be better for a non overclocker or someone just cooling with air but I have a lot of water cooling potential in my computer spares box! I don't care about the actual GHz number, just which is best, also are the advances in platform technology going to play a large part in future use down the line?

if you can afford it go for haswell over ivy, you will get the better ipc and power consumption out of the haswell chip.

also note both chips can be delidded for better cooling which would be very benificial if you are planning to overclock heavily. i wouldn't personally try this but it is an option.

I think a haswell chip is going in my basket quite soon! No delidding here though, not yet anyway :lol:

He explains a lot of this in his video. Basically a 4.8ghz Ivy is ever so slightly slower than a 4.6ghz Haswell cpu.

Both run hot(haswell is hotter) and both benefit from watercooling, until you reach a certain point in volts where after that point temps just skyrocket.

I'd go with the 4670K over either of those :)
