Some very intensive and pretty looking demos from ATI

Ray tracing is a useless demo until we have gfx cards with enough horsepower to utilize it properly. No one wants ray-traced gfx that look like they came straight from the 90's. I mean 45fps on a craptastically rendered raytrace scene doesn't do anything for me, sorry.

Show me some movie-quality rendered raytracing w/ high anti-aliasing off of a single consumer gfx card and then I'll raise an eyebrow.

i wouldn't say there was anything high poly in that scene tbh you can see the polygon edges on the globe and other things?

perhaps an alpha masked texture on the globe? but tbh it still doesn't look very impressive
