ATI 4870 1GB without Open GL2?

OpenGL 2.0

What does it mean?

I saw a Saphire ATI 4870 1GB card recently and it didn't appear to have it.

Is this possible?

What I heard was OpenGL 2.0 was to do with 3D graphics.

If this is correct, how can a top-end gaming card not have this feature?

Can it be downloaded onto any card? I have seen a few sites where it can be downloaded.

This card was £50 cheaper than another Saphire 4870 card that was almost identical to it apart from this one thing.

Could be a great Chrissy present from me to me!

OpenGL 2 is a graphics API (basically an alternative to DirectX *.*), used in programming a few games.

I believe it's ATI, not the partners who set the API's which are supported by the 4870 series.

Also novatech show a sapphire 4870 1GB supporting OpenGL 2.0.
