why do gamers need on board buttons when EVERY gamer will be putting it in a case or 4 way SLI/ Crossfire?

almost all x79 boards will do 4 way sli do to the fact the chipset natively supports 40 lanes 16 8 8 8. Asus is just making use of the bandwidth.
