Thanks JR I pretty much assumed as much and quite honestly cost has been a big factor too, I really cant fathom forking out over $3000 on monitors (there $1050 here each here). I was really wanting to go with g-sync.

In you opinion is surround really worth all the fuss, I have never even tried it?

I think it depends what you play. I had triple 1080's then switched to 1440p and now a Swift. If you try and do all of the things at once (surround + 144 + 1440 + G-Sync) then it's just going to be horrifically expensive and way too ambitious to run everything nicely. Having said that G-Sync would help. Figure out the things you value most and go for one 144hz 1440p or triple 1080p. I play predominantly racing games and GTA so would choose IPS + thin bezels over 144hz if going triples.

I don't really see triple as a fuss, in recent years it's worked really nicely and integrated well into dekstop usage, drivers and most games I played got on fine with it too. It's great for multitasking and it just has an epic wow factor. The sacrifice to be made is finding room for it! and I suppose also when your running something that will only fit on one screen (ie. movie) then you can only watch it relatively small. I guess thats only a factor if you don't have a TV also.

I have to say I indecisive might just get one ROG swift and I already have two other monitors the PB278Q 2560 x 1440 which I have been gaming on and a 1080p my older monitor which basically I use when multi tasking. Could keep PB278Q for multitasking and use the Swift for gaming.

Also thought that 3 x 27" would be a nightmare size wise which is why another reason I was thinking the BENQ XL2420G just the bezels are 19mm as apposed to the ROG Swift 6mm bezels. Do you know of any other G-Sync models with thin bezels I cant seem to find any.

The Swift has an 11mm bezel IRL, 3mm border + 6mm bezel + 2mm frame. None of the G-Sync panels are particularly thin.

Running 3 * Rog swift on a 980SLI is a bit ambitious though technically and to a reasonable extent, you can. Someone I know has a Rog swift * 3 set up and he uses a Titan black Tri- SLI to power them.
I would guess that at such resolutions, your Vram tends to be more important.

If you ask me if the setup was impressive, I'd say - the bezels didnt bother me at all though It did bother the owner of this set up. depending on your attitude towards bezels, your mileage will vary.

Also Regarding the Rog swift in this set up, I noticed a contrast shift attributing to its TN panel when there were three of them lined up and I was moving my eyes right to left. I would prefer IPS panels for such a set up though its likely that youre not as sensitive to TN color and contrast shifts as I am. I prefered three Rog Swifts in potrait mode instead.

I agree with the person above that while impressive, Going by the price of such a setup, Its not correspondingly mind blowing (for 2000 bucks... I would expect my head to explode with awesomeness).

Lastly, the swift bezel being 6mm is more of a marketing thing. Its a bit more than that since there is a small inner lining. I would say its more like 1 cm (10mm) in total.

Yeah I'm not so sure weather to bother with surround now after discussing on here, would mean another 980 and I have already spent enough on this pc to buy 3 ROG Swift and another GPU and

In terms of the TN panel I probably would notice as I currently use a PLS panel Asus PB278Q to game on which I do enjoy.

Considering the new PG279Q IPS when its available and call it a day

So I just installed mine and I gotta say it's a huge f*cking upgrade from 1080p!, Holy crap!

1080p looks tiny in comparison to 1440p haha! :lol:

I'm not very use to the stand and the fact that the monitor is positioned quite far forward from the actualy base stand. As with my old BenQ monitors, monitor is just about 1-2 cm of the stand, whereas on the Swift, it's more like 5+ cm.

I'm having my fingers crossed that this monitor will turn out Ok!

Use this site tool to check for stuck or dead pixels, Choose a colour then press F11 to go fullscreen, Go through all colours, White will see black spots, Red will see black spots etc... -

Just did it and nothing out of the ordinary that I can see... all full colours covering the entire screen, all the way out to the edges. Will continue using this tool during the next couple of days to test it out

Yup indeed.. Still waiting for my acer replacement to get stocked at my local store.
Once you go full 144Hz for some time while gaming you should check the screen again. Got my bright pixel almost instantly like that on day 1.. :/

But what if you take down the 144Hz to 120Hz?... seeing it happens mostly when you have it on 144Hz?.
I mean, I doubt my games will run at 144FPS anyway so?... more like 120FPS, so why not?...

Hmm doubt if that will ensure not getting any dead pixels.
Had my gsync module (I guess, everything was blurry with some vertical lines across the screen) crash on me on day 3 too, while doing some simple desktop stuff.. Solved it magically by unplugging the power cord and then plugging it back in though. I don't feel comfy at all using it because I know it could crash at any given moment in game

Dayum, just did the thingy again and saw something on it... and it was there through the different colours and was like "shiiiit, don't do this to me..." and then it was just some kind of dust or so ^_^ ... Thank god!

I'm holding out for my holy grail of monitors... 34" ultrawide 1440p 144hz gsync IPS... Gotta be one out soon, right? Right?

Not sure if this is something to bug out about, but notised some kind off black lensflare in the bottom right of the monitor?... not huge though. Like a bleed. Only see it on a white background though.

I see when I sit straight in front of it, but if I move my head so I look straight at the corner... it's not there. So only see it when in front of the center and look down at it at an angle.

That's also one of the many known issues with swifts :/
You might also get screen flickering on static images and such.. Replace it with another brand while you still can!

Haven't gotten those yet... I will try it a few more days, if it gives up on me, I'll give it up.

Most of the people I know in work got refunds on their Swifts and are waiting on a more reliable model.

I only know of maybe 2 people that haven't had problems, But they will.
