I think the ROG swift is perfect for gaming, I've had one since release and it's not skipped a beat, yes the colour isn't as great but with a few tweaks it looks awesome

and games are are now tear free!
Well that sound very nice indeed!
If you dont do gaming - yes.. but If you do, then I'd say the prices are worth it. I felt it an absolute game changer and I cant see myself going back to a display without it.
Do you do gaming? the with out a shadow of doubt - not one ounce of a shadow of doubt, Gsync - though as I mentioned, I prefer the Acer XB270HU to the rog swift - since its IPS screen makes sure you have the best of both worlds.
let me break down what you'll find in these gaming monitors which are worth paying for.
1. 1440p resolution
2. IPS panel (in case of the Acer XB270HU)
3. Extremely low input lag (The best on the planet)
4. Extremely low response times (best in class)
5. ULMB
6. Gsync/freesync
7. 144hz (this would be one of the more compelling reasons)
So the Gsync is only one of the 7 reasons you are paying for this monitor. You'll notice all of them in your monitor and especially enjoy the 144hz refresh rate @ ultra low response times.
Umm, I do game at times, mostly Battlefield 3 and at occasion 4. Trying to get into CS:GO and CoD:AW... My community do have several competitive teams, which I might join, in the near future or so...
If you don't game much at all, then I'd look at a nice IPS screen. Maybe a curved screen?
I'm personally looking at a 1440 144hz IPS screen, which looks like it'll be freesync despite my wishes, as I still play quite a few games (and I like 144hz ALOT )but not competitively. So I'm not fussed about the 4ms response rate. Color is nice.
Freesync/Gsync is great in certain situations but I don't feel I need it. Heck, I don't really want it as knowing my luck I'll be stuck on the side which gets dropped.
Well, from what I've seen in terms of what the market has to offer... curved screens seems to be very expensive, try to look all flashy and like you own a porsche, a glass house and have millions in your bank account. Plus I don't like most of their designs... the Samsung ones are nice though, but they are in the Titan X price range and that I don't feel comfortable paying.
The Swift is one that I have basically fallen in love with... as I've said a million times now, the small bezels, the nice chrome ASUS logo and the design overall just looks very nice indeed.
I don't know what it is... but for some reason, Acers monitors usually look like shit in my eyes, I don't know why though, they just do.
The stand just looks very lol, almost likes a kids toy and the orange ring on the base?... kinda looks to me like they are trying to copy the Swift. But failed.
So yeah... I'm very stuck here and even though I'm the star sign Scorpion, I feel like a fish... can't decide lol. Especially when there's such amount of money involved.
Though the Swift is about £100 cheaper than the Acer... so according to this post, the Swift is more on my than the Acer one.
Very unsure though... I'm probably the most unsure person this forum has ever had lol.
