Asus rog swiftt pg278q

How about the pretty new acer XB270HU?
2560x1440p, 1ms, ips, 144hz, gsync

It was one of the first ones I stumbled upon now when googling for these specs

I honestly cannot recommend Asus when it comes to monitors, Get BenQ, Samsung, Anything else just not Asus.

TBF We only have Asus monitors at work and none of them has any issues, could be the fact that we paid them 1.2k per monitor but.. yeah.. thats probably it! I can never recommend any "gamer panels" they often have issues due to the high refresh rate.

Up to you bud, Read up as much as you can beforehand though.

Yeah I've noticed all our "Cheap" monitors in work i.e sub £800 develop dead pixels pretty fast, All of them are Asus but we also have BenQ and Samsung and none of which have dead pixels.

It's the panels Asus are getting made by Samsung I believe, They must be getting really cheap ones made.

What's this now?? All of a sudden my screen looks like this:
It's as blurry as the picture shows and also note that vertical line.

I'm running Tx's in SLI with the latest driver. Tried both of the cards while disabling the pcie slot of the other card using the mobo switch on the Rampage V extreme, same result.

Also just tried another driver to no avail. Temps etc are all normal, no overclocks in play.
Is this software related or has my monitor just flipped me off?..

EDIT:

When I power off the pc this is how the 'no signal' notification looks:

Doesn't look software related to me as the gpus are powered off at this moment.. *sigh*

RMA time dude, My 2nd RMA had this exact problem, Blurry picture, Now and then it would clear up for a few minutes but also noticed a slight flicker.

I'm going to ask the store for a refund and replace it with the Acer model I mentioned earlier. They also sell it and it's 60€ more expensive, so I don't think they'll make a big deal of it. Or so I hope.. Sucky thing is I paid for my Swift just a few days before your thread popped up about your Swift story Dice. I picked it up hoping it would all be good, but things turned out differently..

Main reason any monitors I buy in the future will not be Asus, Even if they do get their actual panels from Samsung they must sell them the ones that didn't make the grade.

I'm thinking of showing my the servicw technician ocer at my store this thread as when I mentioned these faults, he hadn't heard of them.

I might get one just to see... I can still return it though if I so wish, so no worries on that end :)

Nope, they are made by AU Optronics ;) no Samsung or LG panels made it into the Swift series. I have one coming in next week for repair.

But it's so awesome dude! :D

If its mainly for the look and feel of the rog swift, check out the new Asus PG279q (rog swift is PG278q)

So this is a 144hz ips gsync panel put in the swift's body.
means, the same awesome panel as the acer xb270hu and the physical body of the rog swift. Best of both worlds? ;)

i could link an external site but not sure what the policy here is regarding that.

When will this be released then and any info on price tag?...

well, not so far.. but I hear from Asus representatives that their monitor focus this year is solely going to be on Gaming monitors and we can expect them to release quite a big line up by this years end.

I would guess then that this one is going to come out by q3 this year considering they still have that curved 34 inch model and the 4k swift to bring out by q4.

no info on price yet.
I'll just add that Asus has atleast two models lined up using that rog swift body but not the TN panel. they know people like that design but are annoyed with TN panels (rightfully). So I would wait a couple of months to get one of these monitors.

Hi ive got this monitor coming next week but ive got a question,im running a 780ti kingpin but from what ive seen this screen has a Displayport 1.2 will I need to buy a cable to get it to run with the 780ti.

Well I dont know which outputs the 780ti kingpin had but I suppose it has a dp. The swift comes with a dp cable so you should have that covered

Hey guys been reading through this as I am looking to buying 3 monitors to go in surround set up and this brings me to my questions,

I have 2 x GTX980 Strix (SLI) and I also know this depends on the game im playing so for the sake of argument lets say Battlefield 4, would 2 x 980's be enough to play 3 x 2560 x 1440 (ROG Swift) monitors on decent settings to get a decent frame rate or would I need to lower the settings dramatically.

I would prefer the BENQ XL2420G (1920 x 1080) which would obviously be less taxing but the bezel from what I could see is 19mm

I suspect you already know this but the Swift will be slighty bigger with a slightly nicer resolution.

The BenQ, is smaller and has a lower resolution, so won't be as nice in my opinion.

yeah I love the Swift and really want them in surround but worried I wond have enough GPU power with 2 x GTX980's

Triple 1440p with 2x 980's sounds ambitious to me, definitely 1444hz, running one just one swift with decent fps will be challenging. But of course look up benchmarks for the particular game your interested in.

I would never contemplate spending more on monitors than graphics cards. Triple 144hz 1080p monitors sounds far more sensible to me. There are some very slim bezel options out there although they are generally 60hz. Read up on the games you want to play and see how they run at 5760 and 7680 on similar hardware.

or await curved G-Sync 3440x1440 high refresh rate panels if your feeling patient.
