Asus PB278Q QWHD LED Monitor

I'll try with everything on max and work from there. I was originally looking for a 2560x1440 with refresh rate of at least 120hz but they were all 1080P screens.

Those screens as far as I know don't exist yet commercially and if they did I imagine the price would be sky high.

Oh well, thanks for your help, Dicehunter. I'm debating whether to keep the Acer one as a second screen.

One more question, sorry. This will be my first screen with displayport, are there any advantages to that over HDMI and/or DVI?

Personally I use display port as it is the newer tech out of the 3 and as far as I have read can carry more information and have a slightly better picture quality.
Also according to an article I read about intel some time ago they want to phase DVI and VGA out in favour of Display port which is getting to be quite obvious now if you look at the Intel motherboards they have HDMI and Display port connectors.

I think the reason is the panels simply can not change fast enough so they only way to improve speed is through input lag and response time.

Mine as well keep it as a second hand screen if you have the room? Just leave a webpage open on 1080p screen and game open in the 1440p?

Display port is by far the fastest of the 3. Image quality on the top 3 are very close, it justs the fact it can display everything up to 4k at 60hz with full color support up to 1.07billion i believe. The other 3 can do that but only up to 1600p for Dual link DVI and 1200p for HDMI.

Thanks again for your help guys, I will keep the 1080P one for the reasons you two suggested and for monitoring whilst gaming :)

Keeping it for monitoring while gaming or benching is always a good idea, Check temps etc... When your experimenting :)

I'm sure you'll love 1440p goodness.
Also as already mentioned, keeping a screen for a dual monitor setup has many benefits.
If you have any queries on the monitor, fire away and I'll do my best to fulfill them.

Thanks, it will be arriving tomorrow now. So I won't get to play with it until I get home from work. If you're from Asus then can you send me a 4K monitor to try out so I can see which I prefer :P
