Ok took a few images to show it off but it looks like not a bad idea

It dose not tell to many details on the ASUS site but it appears the tablet is nothing more than a big screen and a battery pack (also charges the phone I believe) and the phone is the power house for the processor, memory, SIM, video accelerator and so on.

I can see the phone adding the the width of the device a large amount and also the power of the tablet will be limited to what they can squeeze into the phone.

What's everyone's thoughts on this?

I like the idea, but to sell me I'd want a proper OS on there like Windows 8 which looking at recent news could still potentially be usable on a phone. Unfortunately I'll be waiting a few years.

I thought the same when I first saw it until I realised it was just a shell and the phone did everything. Then I thought it's a bloody good idea providing the price is in line with that fact.

I believe Asus are looking to sell the actual pad much cheaper than any tablet on the market as the phone does the work.

I don't think its a gimmick its just a new idea to the market.

Asus have been making smart phones and tablets for some time so this should be a good idea. But this being a first it will probably have a few bugs to work threw.

and as Bungral said its a solution to a much cheaper tablet.

I can see this being a good idea but I can not see to many people buying it.

The tablet part is simply a phone accessory
